I just couldn't wait for the date with Gamma Stanley to be over. Not that he was bad or anything. But I just couldn't stop comparing his voice to how deep Desmond's gets when he's close to me, or his hold to how my body gets warm when my fingers are laced with Desmond's. Even his smile didn't seem all too appealing. Or it's because of a certain tall, blue-eyed Alpha that's obsessed with me.
I couldn't stop wondering why I agreed to the date in the first place. I needed someone rich who could get my parents off my back. I couldn't be with Desmond because for some reason, I wasn't okay with him finding out about my past, and I couldn't trust myself to keep that part away from for too long too.
