Chapter 23 – Promoted
“Morning, Chris!” Jones was the first to greet the newly arrived superior of the two.
The supervisor of the cleaning department briefly glanced at him and uttered a short greeting. His eyes told them that he had no recollection of who Jones was. Instead, Chris’ attention went back to Jay who had remained silent, waiting for his intention.
“Come with me.”
Jay detected the pleasantness and excitement in his voice. He couldn’t help but felt a little suspicious of this. “What’s up?”
“Just follow me.” Chris turned on his heels to go back in the direction he went again. Since he’s the superior, Jay had to follow. In truth, he felt good at Chris's sudden appearance. His timing was perfect!
