HAZEL
“Marry me.”
I stared at Jason like I wasn't understanding any word he was saying and almost laughed. Because what he said was just impossible.
“Jason Blake,” I kept my purse on the desk he was sitting on and sat at couch across him. “This must be a joke, because it is funny.”
“Then do you have any other plans to get revenge on your family and Damon.”
Damon
Just his name made the memories come back flooding. My fiance. The man who promised me forever. The man who sent me flowers every morning and text me every single minute just to check on me.
The images are there, very clear. They have not been erased.
For two years, we have been engaged till the day I signed everything to his name, that night I cought him f*****g my step sister, he didn't apologize, there wasn't any signs of regret on his face.
“I am tired of you, let's break up.”
He said, that day I tried to make a scene but my father called me selfish, that I couldn't let my sister have him.
“Why are you so selfish Hazel? Can't you let your sister have him? She has never asked for anything from you before.” My father said looking at me like I was something disgusting.
He made me trust him, made me trust him and even signed everything I had to his name, then he took off with my step sister Rosa.
The pain is still there, I can feel my heart breaking to pieces even if it's been six months now.
All I have left was a broken heart and the Rees Resort, the only gift my mother left me before she died.
I promise that I will take my revenge. I will destroy everything they have and make them pay.
“So how does marrying you make it a perfect revenge.”
He leaned forward resting his arms on the table “How does marrying the CEO of LYTE one of the powerful and infleuncial companies in the world not makes it the perfect revenge.”
I forced a short a short laugh and looked away.
“What if we did, if I marry you, how does it make it a perfect revenge, it wouldn't tarnish their reputation or make them loo…..se.” I trailed in my sentence finally realizing what it meant.
“No, this is a bad idea, I can't marry you, you are not really my type.”
“Okay that hurts.”
“No, no offense but Damon won't believe it, nobody will.”
“Then we'll make them.”
Jason. Not only is he the CEO of LYTE but also the first born son of the Blake family. The most infleuncial family in Paris and the world. And my best friend, Nobody would believe it.
“Think about it and let me know.” he said with a smirk on his face as he stood up and tried to leave.
“Wait.” I said before I could think.
He stopped.
I turned and met his eyes, “We have been friends our whole life.”
He let out a long breath “I know.”
We looked at each other from across the room for a moment.i forced a short laugh and looked away.
Silence passed between us.
I bit my lower lip, trying to look for a way make this feel less awkward. I could feel him looking at me while I kept my eyes on the desk.
“Contract marriage.” he said finally braking the silence while walking towards me.
“You draft the contract and write all you want, the rules and everything. I'll sign it.”
“It's purely business then?”
“I'll do anything for you” he said quietly, kissed my forehead and walked out of the office.
I sat on the couch, trying to process everything that just happened. Did I just agree to marry my best friend.

Morning came, quiet but beautiful.
A soft, Champagne-gold light poured over the city, hitting the Eiffel tower first then spilling down onto the private terrece of the Hôtel de Crillon private suite, where I was staying. The sky was a flawless, expensive shade of pale blue – not a single cloud.
I opened my eyes slowly, walked towards the my window, trying to capture the beautiful picture and forget my problems for awhile.
Lisa my secretary, came in bursting into the room, her chest raising and falling like she ran all the way.
“Lisa is everything alright?”
“No ma'am, we have a big problem.”
My heart sank,Lisa saying we have a big problem means it is really big.
I rushed towards the couch, sat down, she passed me the the tablet and there it was.

“What is Jason saying about it?”
“I haven't contacted them yet.”
My hands were shaking I pulled out my phone and called Jason's number. It rang a minute's then he picked.
“Hey.” His came through the phone, sounding rough like he just woke up from bed.
“Are you still sleeping?”
“Well, you just woke me up.”
“Check the News now.”
“Good morning to you too Hazel Morgan.”
“Articles about us are everywhere.”
“Oh that, I payed for that to be written.”
“What?, you did this?” I got to my fit abruptly, “Why?”
“How else do you want to tell the world we are together,” his voice absolute “Don't worry about the articles we're going to clarify it soon anyway.”
“You should've told me about it, I was scared”
“When am with you?” he said quietly. “Get ready, there's a surprise waiting for you at the party tonight.”
“What kind of surprise?”
“You'll love it.” He said softly before he ended the call.
