“You think your father will hold back?” Draven’s voice was sharp as steel, slicing through the tension in the war room. He stood by the massive oak table, maps, and battle plans spread across it. His piercing gaze was fixed on me, unrelenting. I clenched my fists at my sides, swallowing the lump of anger in my throat. “No. He’ll do anything to see me destroyed.” The pack's top warriors flanked the table, Kael among them, his jaw tight with determination. The air was thick with the scent of impending war. Every breath I took felt heavy with dread and defiance. Draven's Beta, Aldric, spoke up, his voice laden with skepticism. “If we’re going to war, then we need to face facts—Liana is a liability on the battlefield.” A growl rumbled deep in Draven’s chest. “Watch your mouth.”
