“Oh, good,” sighed Brigid and now she did lean forward and kiss Dolf — on the cheek. She slid her arm through Dolf’s and led her toward the food. “Now tell me about your research. I am certain that advances in the field —”
As they walked away, Addie — Dolf — looked over her should and shot a nervous smile at her friends. Tommy and Sally both laughed and gave her the thumbs-up signal.
“Wow,” said Tommy. “I didn’t expect that! I mean, did you know Brigid swung that way?”
His arms around Jen’s waist, Jack answered, “I think she’s been figuring some things out.”
Tommy and Sally both laughed again, and followed after their friend and Brigid.
“It’s going to be okay, sweetheart,” Jack whispered in Jen’s ear. “It’s not like they’re getting married and having kids or anything.”
