RECONCILIATION

Annie is seated on a bench in the school compound on her phone playing Candy Crush when someone sat beside her.
“Hey.”
Annie turned to see who sat beside her and it turned out to be Maggie.
“Hey.” Annie replies with a sigh.
“I'm so sorry for giving you the silent treatment. We knew he was royalty and...”
“Afraid I would be arrested the next day for kissing royalty. Right?” Annie finishes off with a snarl.
Maggie frowns “f**k No! You know he's Mark's cousin and not a really nice person so we thought if we ignore you, you would stay away from him.” She explains.
Annie rolls her eyes “Not a convincing story, and he's pretty nice to me. Nicer than you ever were. Wait... Mark's cousin?”
“Yeah, paternal. You guys met up more?” Maggie asks shocked.
Annie nods shyly.
“Wait a minute, did you guys do it?!” Maggie asks excitedly.
Annie blushes and hushes her “Eew, no, reduce your tone.”
Maggie's eyes and tone turned teasing “So what did you guys do? Did he... touch you?”
Annie turned scarlet “Yeah.”
Maggie's excited “Where and how? What was the limit.”
“We... we... we just gave each other... orals.” Annie finally finishes while playing with her fingers.
“Arggghhhh!” Maggie suddenly yells and pulls Annie into a hug “My baby isn't innocent anymore!”
Smilingly, Annie pushes her away, acting annoyed “Shut up, people can hear!” She snaps.
Maggie rolls her eyes “Who cares. He must really like you.” She adds.
Annie blushes again “Why would you say that?”
“He's not really a ‘girl's person' matter of fact, he's not a ‘people's person’. He easily intimidates people so they don't really get close to him, you know that kind of person.” Maggie explains.
Annie nods “But he's very social and not really intimidating towards me.”
“Cause you're his mate.” Maggie snaps.
Annie furrow her brows “Mate? As in on the same level? how?”
Maggie's eyes widen as she realized she almost spilled the beans “Yeah, something like that.”
“So..., do you see him a lot since you know, he's Mark's cousin and you're staying with Mark?” Annie asks.
Maggie shakes her head “I told you, he's not a people's person, I've only seen him just thrice, his coronation, his sister's birthday and that day at the restaurant. He hardly talks to Mark, talk more of talking to me. I bet he doesn't remember my name.”
They both laugh.
“So Mark's royalty?” Annie asks shocked.
“Kinda. His mother is Jordan's father's stepsister. His grandfather had an affair.” Maggie whispers to her.
Annie gasps exaggeratedly “Does that affect their relationship?”
Maggie shrugs “Nope, the king adores his stepsister.”
Annie nods in understanding “Royalties are so complicated.”
“Wait, are you and him officially together?” Maggie asks.
“Yeah. Kinda. He asked me.” She blushingly replies.
“So I can call him Jordan right?” Maggie carefully asks.
“Don't you call him that on a normal?” Annie confusingly asks.
Maggie laughs “Of course not, already told you I've never spoken to him and it's a criminal act to call royalty by their names without adding the titles but that excludes immediate family. Even Mark has to call him Prince.”
“Wow. So many rules.”
Maggie nods in agreement “Before I forget, that Jess girl you embarrassed in class is a total whore.” She starts laughing hysterically.
“That's not a nice thing to say.” Annie reprimands Maggie despite the small smile tugging by the side of her lip.
“Yester evening, in the school stairwell, she had a foursome with Tristan, Cole and Tuck, after the act, she tried cozying up to Tristan but he plainly told her she was a means of relieving stress to him, she got mad and was about to hit him but he held her hand in time and pushed her off of him. She's no longer talking to any of us but I heard she's planning on taking revenge.”
Annie closes her eyes “Maggie! You didn't have to be specific!”
Maggie laughs “Oh I forgot, you got your first kiss last week and got a head a few days ago. My bad.” The small smile on her lip contradicts her apology.
“Yeah right.”
They both turn to each other before bursting into laughter.
“It's almost time. I bought tickets to the cinema, ‘Red Notice’ is being released tonight and we're so not going to miss it.”
“OMG! Tonight?! Let's get going. I need to dress up. Let's go.” She freaks out and stands and starts running towards her hostel while dragging Maggie.

“Hey Mom.”
An extremely gorgeous woman on pale blue gown, tending to the flowers turn slightly to see Jordan.
“J. So what's up with you and your mate, when are we going to get to meet her?”
He nervously laughs, rubbing his neck “I don't know Mom, she's kinda shy.”
The Queen laughs, “I bet she is. By the way, V wants to go to the movies, you should accompany her and maybe ask your mate to join you guys and you introduce them.”
Jordan nods “Ok Mom, let me go call her.”
He went into the palace, into his room and called Annie, nervously.
She didn't answer till the call was about to disconnect.
“Hey.” Annie says first.
“Hey, umm, how are you doing?” He's so nervous since he and Annie last talked yesterday when they went down on each other and he's scared he scared her away by going s****l with her on their third meeting.
“I'm good, you?” She asks back.
“Great. Umm, are you free today?”
“No.” Came her sharp reply.
Jordan looked absolutely crestfallen “Oh, I just wanted to go on a date with you so you can meet my sister.”
Annie pauses “Oh. Unfortunately, I have plans for tonight.”
Despite how disappointed Jordan felt he tried to sound ok.
“That's fine, I'll probably introduce you guys next time.”
Annie hums “Ok, I need to get going.”
“Uhmm, babe?”
“Yes.” Annie answers almost out of breath.
“I really really like you.” he confesses.
Annie smiles from ear to ear “Goodbye Jordan.”
“Goodbye, babe.”
She disconnects the call.
