Ryden's mind was fuzzy, the last remnants of a dream being chased away by the realization that he was awake again. It was a pleasant dream. Something about sitting in a meadow full of flowers and with bright laughter in the air, but the details were fading fast even as he tried to recall them.
With a mental sigh, he allowed his brain to focus and cautiously opened one of his eyes. The bright spring sunlight cuts the room in half, and he could see dust motes dancing in the wall of light. He pulled the duvet up over his head to keep it out. Although it will not work, his brain is awake now and is already worrying about the two dreams he had since he came to this world, along with the emotional influence Damon has over him as well as the tattoos. Ryden sighed and closed his eyes. He didn't want to think about anything right now.
Lazing around in crumpled sheets with the sunlight streaking through the blinds, his eyes slowly blinked open. He made some deep, grunting noises as he twisted onto his back and stretched his neck.
Ryden smiled and enjoyed the soft and slow process of waking up after sleeping. He glanced casually at the alarm clock, noticing it was five-thirty, a bit late for him but most likely early for others. He stared at the ceiling, flipped his pillow, and rolled around in the sheet world.
Then it hit him.
Nose twitching, he caught the faint fumes of sizzling bacon drifting up from the kitchen.
“Could it be?” he thought to himself.
Is this why he woke up? He sniffed again and this time he was positive, he smelled bacon cooking.
Ryden completely woke up after this and immediately pulled himself out of the bed and headed straight for the bathroom to go through his morning routine.
Finished with his morning routine, Ryden went out of his bathroom and to the kitchen, to see what else Damon made for breakfast other than bacon. Entering the kitchen, he found Damon only wearing sweatpants and happily bobbing his head to the music that was coming from his phone. He looked at the kitchen counter and saw there was bacon, fried eggs, toast, and coffee on top of it. Overall, it looked quite appealing. The original was also a cook, and he was the one who taught Damon to cook.
Damon turned around to put the last of the bacon on the plate when he noticed Ryden standing in the middle of the kitchen.
"You're awake, good morning,'' he said while putting the bacon on the plate, and then placed the pot in the dishwasher. Ryden smiled and pulled out a seat while replying good morning, and simply started eating, while Damon finished stacking the dishwasher and took his seat. It has been a week since Damon moved in and they developed their routines.
Damon would wake up long before Ryden and get ready for the day while Ryden slept later than usual because of the construction of the orphan playground, which was going smoothly since both leads were too busy supervising one another.
Manuel had begun so because Katsuro was selling company secrets, and Katsuro because he noticed Manuel was pulling away from him physically and emotionally.
The mistrust between them worsens as Katsuro, unaware of Manuel's knowledge of his actions, continues to sell company secrets. The playground is almost completed, with only the finishing touches to be done.
“Host, it seems the protagonist panicked and just ordered the k********g of the male lead's sister,” Daisuke informed him.
“When will the k********g take place?” he asked Daisuke.
"They arranged it for this afternoon after she gets out of school."
“Hmm…” Ryden replied while taking a sip of coffee.
"Host, are you going to interfere?"
"No, I will not. Manuel must have his phone bugged and all his actions must be passed along to him, correct?"
"Yes, he has people constantly monitor him."
"Then he is most likely aware of this. He will take countermeasures against it. Besides, I will put suspicion on myself if I interfere, and I like my existence free of those two. I may become a cannon fodder again if I'm around them too much,” he pointed out.
"Certainly. Everyone and everything gets destroyed against the sons and daughters of the world's fate."
Ryden smiles at this.
"But, Host, you're lazy."
"What makes you say that?" he teased Daisuke.
"You didn't retaliate against Katsuro, you just let him destroy himself."
"If I have an easier way to do something, why should I do it the hard way? Besides, I call it taking the high road?" He confidently told Daisuke.
"I call it being lazy."
Ryden rolled his eyes and sighed. Then, he looked at Damon and asked, "What are you going to do today?"
"Nothing much. I will just watch movies. Want to join me? It's the weekend and knowing you, you work instead of relaxing," Damon replies, grinning from ear to ear.
Ryden smiled. "I will join you as I'm still on call from the company I hired to do the construction, in case of problems," he told Damon.
Ryden spent the day watching movies with Damon. If it was the original soul, he would've been bored and impatient. But this Ryden spent most of his past life watching TV and movies, and playing video games, considering he was nineteen when he died.
At some point, while watching their tenth movie, Ryden was spooning with Damon and their legs intertwined, making himself speechless because Damon was shameless and only said he was watching movies as a chance to molest Ryden.
Unfortunately for Ryden, that was not the end of it. By the time they watched three more movies, he was only wearing his pants and nothing else. His belt was thrown across the room.
Ryden tried putting up a fight but unfortunately, Damon was shameless and often ignored his small resistance. And to make everything more hopeless, he learned Damon had very terrible and irresistible puppy eyes, and so that was how Ryden became the big spoon that was completely and thoroughly molested by the small spoon.
