Caleb I had never known a rage so consuming. The moment I saw Sonya step toward me in my study, the bile rose in my throat, bitter and acidic, burning through every shred of restraint I had left. She had the audacity after everything she had done to walk in here like nothing happened. As though she still had a place beside me. As if I would ever look at her the same way again. I could barely hear her voice. My blood was roaring too loud in my ears. I didn’t care what she had to say. The sight of her, the nerve of her was enough to shatter what little patience I had left. I didn’t even want to speak. I wanted her gone. Gone from my pack, gone from my life, gone from the twisted nightmare she had created. She had ruined me. I thought she was strong, ambitious, confident.
