Sophia The scent of warm honey-glazed bread, freshly whipped butter, and perfectly brewed herbal tea filled the expansive dining hall. Light from the tall arched windows poured in, wrapping the table in a golden hue as if the morning itself had bent down to kiss the corners of the estate. I sat at the long table, flanked by Erick on my left and his mother directly across from me.
