[ CHAPTER TEN The Fight ] [SIENNA'S POINT OF VIEW] Once night came, I escaped from my room and went through the windows by tying up a curtain. If all this happened was because of me then I just have to stay away from people. I quickly absconded and ran towards the city which was 10 minutes away. I rushed towards the convenience store and bought some food to sustain me for the night. I spent my time in the nearby park and I recalled the times when I did this when mother died. Meanwhile the three back at the mansion was panicking as to where Sienna was and her Grandma tried to run as fast as her body could to check Viktor's room. She saw him still asleep and she sighed in relief as she turned her back. The ropes tied around him suddenly uncut themselves and Viktor's hands twitched and his eyes opened revealing a deep red. Before her grandma noticed, he was already mid-air, claws out to attack her. Sienna sipped the last of her hot chocolate before throwing the cup behind her and it landed inside the trash can. She enjoyed the silence when she heard something stepping on the fallen leaves. As she turned around, she saw Iris. "Iris? "She cautiously asked. After a second, Iris spoke. "You arrived a week after. Became famous, took Cedrick's attention and even took the president's attention." She begins to mutter. "You thief! You stole Cedrick away from me!" She started screaming at the end of her sentence and charged at me. The light shone upon her dagger and I instinctively escaped her s***h. She started screaming incoherently and kept stomping her feet. I stumbled and dodged another attack but the blade cut my cheeks and I felt the blood smoothly flow down my face. I landed on the ground and just as I was about to finally see blood splatter, a ball flew and hit Iris' face. I hurriedly stood up and backed up a step and began to run. Whilst I did, I saw Cedrick charged at Iris and I realized that the ball was his. He met my eyes and showed me a tiny smile. I ran again for the nth time. Running as all I knew and I hated myself for it. My heartbeat was fast but I felt that something far greater, far more dangerous would arrive. Viktor's sleeping face appeared in my mind and I held my pendant in nervousness. I frowned when I recalled it gone, used for the better good. I looked behind me and saw Cedrick catching up. "Where is Iris?" "I knocked her out." Silence ruled between us. I wanted to speak when suddenly something glowed and flew to the side of my face, piercing the tree behind me was a dagger. "Siennnaaaaa!!!" Iris voice echoed in the woods and I felt cold sweat form in my back. I was ready to run when I stumbled on a protruding root of a tree. I seem to have the affinity in stumbling on roots. Cedrick engaged in a fight with Iris behind me and I wanted to get up and run but like every typical movie, I sprained my ankle. It could've been because I was so panicked that I disrupted my own balance. The moon hid behind the clouds and I felt an oppressive darkness coming. It felt like something was sucking the oxygen away and I felt like I was under the sea or experiencing some kind of motion sickness. I felt the leaves beside me crunch as somebody stepped on it and a mysterious force rose me up to the sky and my heart skipped a beat at the familiar feeling. I looked down to see Viktor. "Ahh...just like Evelyn." I heard Viktor's voice say and the hairs on my back stood up. He flew and caressed my cheeks. At the corner of my eyes, Cedrick had long knocked Iris and I hoped it was real this time. Cedrick faced me with horror in his face and despite having a hard time breathing I raised my hand and asked help. "H...e...lp..." I croaked. Cedrick was shivering like a malfunctioning machine, he pointed a finger at Viktor and when Viktor looked at me with his red orbs, Cedrick Hughes stood up and despite the clear fear in his body, he moved to save me. Viktor with his red eyes drew closer as if to eat my face with his shark like teeth but Cedrick disrupted him with a tackle. It had no effect. Viktor waved his free hand and Cedrick floated and as if some force choked him. "St.op!" I managed to voice out, the grip on my neck was making me lose consciousness. but a green bolt of light attacked him, and he crashed on a big tree. Viktor's power of Cedrick faded and Cedrick blacked out. As for me, he still hadn't released me. "Get away from my granddaughter, demon!" I heard the powerful voice of my grandmother directed at Viktor with strong authority. At the same time, Cole and Joelyn came running like cheetahs, side by side and pounced on Viktor. To battle them, Viktor let go of me. Viktor created a force and the two got pushed away, they quickly reacted and formed a defensive stance as they flew away. They landed with grace and raised their weapons with lightning speed. The two continue to fight with Viktor and I saw Grandma fly towards me with a staff, decorated with a green gem. "Are you okay child?" "Yes." I answered while my mouth spouted another round of coughs. Grandma gave a pleased grunt and stood up. I wanted to ask Grandma why she flying but she quickly pushed me behind her and raised her staff, muttering some spell and her staff glowed like the moon as it collected sparkles in the air and launched at Viktor. The two quickly evaded it as if they had eyes at the back of their heads, the magic attack pierced Viktor and he let out an animalistic growl. Viktor pressed the ground and black shadows grew out of the soil. The shadows started to attack the two and grandma did some spell again to protect me. I looked at Viktor as he had a condescending smirk at us. These things were probably the dead or some left behind regrets that he controlled to become his army. The fight was too fast and too epic. One action was gone if you didn't pay attention, after eliminating a dozen dark spirits, more stood in its place. I continue to hide behind Grandma and I knew that they were beginning to tire themselves out. "What's wrong, Colette?" Viktor laughed as he was floating in front like a commander. Colette was my grandmother-she glared at him after hearing her name called. "You've gotten weak and older..." the demon spoke the words like provocations were simply rolling out of his tongue. "Still a loser and a noisy one." Colette spat. The demon got annoyed and ordered the dark spirits to finish everything! "Still dumb I see." Colette whispered. Right after I heard Grandma said those arrogant words, a magic circle emitting green light formed below us and the three nodded as if everything is according to plan. Viktor panicked and once the light touched him, he hissed. From Viktor's body, a thick black energy of hate and regret floated out and it kept on whispering evil acts. I presume that was the demon and it finally left Viktor's body! It faded into nothing, leaving violent sparks as if it represented its intense refusal for death. The three finished off the dark spirits and I rushed to Viktor as he lay on the forest floor. "Viktor...wake up!" Tears slowly drip down his face and I could care less if I was becoming a cry-baby. We were way too careless and we never knew that wasn't the end of it. It crept slowly within the soil, the air and forcefully entered Iris! Iris was knocked out gripping one of her daggers and she began t o stir as something controlled her consciousness. I felt something wasn't quite right when another round of an oppressive aura washed over me and it was way stronger that I couldn't move in place. The three were in the same situation as they were frozen too; their energy was being sucked by some darkness hovering above us. A sharp, evil laugh filled the area and I looked at Iris with horror. "Sienna...Sienna...Sienna!" she cackled. "You stupid thief! Stealing...killing...stealing m-my Cedrick! I will kill you!" she began to mumble then mutter incoherently then screamed the last part as she charged at me for the second time. In that millisecond, I could see the evil look in her eyes. The demon had possessed Iris because of her negative emotions! It all happened too fast, Viktor woke up and shielded me but I managed to be faster and push him just in time as the dagger got embedded deep in my left shoulder. I muffled my scream by clamping my mouth shut and I managed to kick her. She stumbled and the evil presence strengthened. Her body violently shook like it was in a seizure and a dark voice spoke. "Very stubborn like Evelyn..." it sneered. "I'll be back again but..." Iris trailed off and flashed beside Viktor. The both of our eyes met and I could see my reflection in his eyes. The light from the moon reflected my face that had pure fear painted on it. "Viktor-!" I choked on my voice as I roughly pulled his collar and pulled him away and in turn I was the one being sucked by the force from the demon. In that millisecond I saw Cole with utter shock and Joelyn with her face as if somebody was about to cut off her limb, Colette-Grandma had a look that made my heart ached as she tried to reach out to grab me.
