[ CHAPTER FIVE Green and Blue Hearts ] [SIENNA'S POINT OF VIEW] "Where are you going, Mira?" Cedrick asked with a questioning look. "That's it. I've had enough of your nosy questions, Cedrick!" I stood up, hands in the air with an exasperated face. "Come on, Mira. Listen, this is for your own goo-!" "How do you know? I know Iris before I knew you so get off your high horse!" I huffed. "Just stay away from Iris, okay?" Unlike last time, he seemed to demand it of me. We were arguing because he wanted me to stay away from my first friend. We only spent time sometimes but she still chose to stick close to me despite my completely unfriendly behavior and creepy ability. "God! Stop acting like a boyfriend Cedrick! We just knew each other for a month!" I visibly him clench his jaw in anger, hurt was evident in his eyes and my heart ached. I had the urge to comfort him and say sorry but decided against it. H was being too nosy and I should stop tolerating him. Unsure of what to say in such situation, I opened and closed my mouth with no words coming out. My sharp tongue caused people to have a bad mood but I rarely used it in a way that emotionally hurt people. Tired of everything, I left him without any words. *** I washed my hands in the sink when suddenly the door moved, followed by the sound of it being locked. I turned around to see a blonde girl with her face completely applied with all types of makeup and behind her were two girls, acting like they were an entourage of some VIP. I recognized one of the girls as Iris. This formation they were familiar and a foreboding feeling grew within me. I don't like where this is going. "Hey, freak. Heard you've gotten friendly with my Cedrick?" I had many things to say but I could choose not to say anything at all. I couldn't help but point out, "your Cedrick?" I clarified. In return I received a slap and what followed was an aching sting. I almost fell down, both my feet backing up two steps. "What did you think? Your Cedrick? Stop your delusions you weirdo. You are staining Cedrick's beautiful record in school by hanging out with him. Go play with the ghosts or something." She cackled and the two girls behind her joined her. Both her green eyes turning into evil crescents as she laughed. Staying in the house for a year probably dulled my brain. To actually think that I simply got used to being ignored and even enjoyed it since I had friends was a naïve mindset. This kind of situation would always come up sooner or later. I laughed. "I don't think I hit you that hard?" The leader looked at me like I had gone crazy. "I don't think Cedrick Hughes would want a clown as a boyfriend!" I repaid her full with a slap and a backhanded slap. The two behind her had their mouths open in fear and shock, acting cautiously-there guards fully activated. "You b****!" She went forward to grab my hair. I held her wrist in an iron grip and nonchalantly started a conversation. "I wonder what your face would look without makeup. Would you look the same or look like dog waste?" I tried to make light of my curse word by changing it into a more scientific and formal sounding term. "What are you doing Sis?! Get her! You'll regret meeting Stacy Vilan!" her face distorted and my eyes zoomed in and I swear I saw how thick her foundation was. I was momentarily distracted as I wondered why it looked somewhat thin despite being so thick. I got distracted when I realized that Iris and Stacy were sisters. Stacy tried to claw me and I think I saw her manicured nails glow in the light before I dodged. That was a close one! I pushed her back and the two caught her like jade, she laid all her body weight and screamed exaggeratedly. "Iris?" We weren't close but she felt like a neutral party, why is she against me now? Iris looked at me when I said her name but gave no answer as she averted her eyes. I felt a very tiny pain and a sense of disappointment. They must be her original friends. They are the typical bully maybe that's why my classmates showered her with praises to the point that I thought she'd drown. I guess I need to add 'good in fights' in my reputation to avoid this kind of annoying situations. The three of them once again attacked me and despite being dormant for a year, I still had my reflexes and moves. Sorry but I'm not rusting yet! In the middle of the fight, Iris shielded Stacy and I managed to stop my fist and it loomed over her face like a scythe. I'm not kidding; I applied my real strength in this fist. In a fight, a second's distraction can turn the tables. The world turned into revolving stars as I was hit by a blunt object and I fell on all fours in the floor, trying to see through the aching. "Good one, Ella." The leader stood up from my earlier lower kick and approached me. "You sl*t, know you place!" A rain of kicks followed. As they beat me up, Stacy told me that Cedrick only approached and befriended me because of curiosity and pure entertainment. I know that I shouldn't believe what she was spouting but I couldn't help it as I was already an insecure person pretending to be not. "You know Cedrick is not the least bit interested in you! He is disgusted with your creepy little ghost friends!" she practically screamed in my right ear. "Did you really think he was different? That you were special? That you were really friends? Wake up!" She slapped me with all her strength that I could taste metal in my mouth. I felt a hand grabbed my hair, I struggled but to no avail. I knew what they planned to do so I struggled more but I was slapped again. What the hell. Is some kind of brass knuckles on her fingers or is it just her fancy nails? They got nearer the toilet and I was seconds away from having my face dipped in the toilet waters. When Ella's voice broke into a terrified scream and soon the two followed and they left like they saw something scary. I got up from my dragged position and checked what it was. A ghost in all white, long black hair was in front of me... I didn't manage to scream because I had long fainted. "Sienna, come here." Mom! I ran towards her for a hug. "Did somebody hurt you again today?" she asked with a pensive look. "Remember Sienna, you can try and please everybody but prioritize your happiness." "I'm afraid to be hated." "Living a sad life is worse now go now." "I won't. Mom, I have so much to tell you-" A bright light shone and blinded me. "Good, you're awake." I was still groggy when I saw a girl in white. She retrieved her mini flashlight and turned it off. "Now, let go of my hand." She said with patience and I realized that I was holding her hand! I quickly let go like I was burned. "Had a good dream?" I answered her with silence. Don't tell me I called her mom?! Shucks. Sucks to be me. Ugh. "You're in the clinic. My assistant brought you in." "Oh, I see. Thank you. Ms. Nurse." I expressed my gratitude sincerely and eyed the beautiful woman who seems to be in her early 20's. She has thick, long brown hair that broke into natural curls, expressive hazel eyes, long nose and full lips that are shaded in deep red. She was in three words, an alluring beauty. If this was the nurse, why aren't the male population crowding here and pretending to be sick? My mental question was soon answered when the assistant nurse entered with coffee in his hands. This guy is probably guarding her. I saw the swirling secrets in his eyes and his cunning smile and I thought, yep, definitely. I felt a sting when I attempted to make a wry smile. Ow. As the two were busy discussing something over coffee, I took this as a chance to grab my bag, check the time which was already an hour after dismissal. The old hag's going to kill me! I wore my bag and wore my hood and hurriedly left the bed as fast as an injured person could. "Slow down there, honey. We need to inform the-" "I appreciate the help. Thank you very much but please don't probe your noses further Ms. Joelyn and Mr. Cole." I addressed her after I read her tag and I already knew this guy earlier on. It might've been sarcastic, harsh or ungrateful but I just don't want any more drama. I simply want to fall asleep in my bed, fall into slumber as I snuggle in the warmth of my blanket. "Looks like you happened to be the show this time." Cole commented. "Yeah. The joke's on me." I left without a second late. "Cole, what infuriating things are you spouting?" Joelyn roared as Sienna left. "I thought she would retort, that was the type of person she was." Cole answered with his eyes still glued on her direction. "Guess, that tough kid isn't as tough as the rumors." Joelyn sipped on her coffee. "No. The rumors don't do her justice, at all."
