The first thing I encountered when I set foot in California was a message from Amanda to come to her house. The voice note she left me forced me to meet her.
I forced my feet to walk away from Serena's house. If I followed my heart, I would accept her invitation. Of course, spending this night with Serena was much more enjoyable than dealing with the drama Amanda had prepared.
I wanted to be completely free of her. But she always has a way of dragging me into her drama.
The taxi taking me pulled up in front of the address Amanda had sent me via text message. I stared at the golden-yellow-painted house from behind the glass window of the passenger door. After the divorce, I had no idea where she lived. And I didn't care about her, so I didn't find out.
