Father didn't pick up my calls, nor did he reply to my messages. So I concluded that he no longer insisted on seeing me. It seemed like his business with me wasn't that important.
Until I got ready to go home, he didn't send me a message. Finally, I decided to go home immediately. If he still insists, I'm going back to San Francisco this weekend.
“Miss Serena?”
The call stopped me in my tracks. The lobby wasn't that crowded because it was after business hours, so I could find who was calling me right away.
