Diane's POV The words slammed into me like a physical blow. I forgot how to breathe. Everything inside me stilled. The exhaustion vanished in an instant, replaced by cold, suffocating fear. I couldn't move. Couldn't speak. I could only stare at my child—my son—silent and unmoving in the doctor's arms. And in that moment, nothing else mattered.
