Diane's POV
I tried to reconcile what she told me with what I had assumed had been the case. I knew that somewhere in that story was the Alpha but I guessed that we had not known each other long enough to get that personal.
“So you refused to be his mate?” I asked for good measure.
“I accepted at once. I remember his half-hearted speech when he found out I was his mate. He was like…” she cleared her throat so she could fake Tony's voice, “in the interest of our families it would be wise for us to get married but I understand you may be sentimental about things like love and all so I am giving you the opportunity to reject me.”
Her impression was so accurate that it was very funny coming from her. I tried to stop my weak body from laughing so hard but I could not. I cried till tears
