Diane’s POV I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms as I tried to steady my breathing. The sound of my beating heart seemed too loud in my ears, drowning out everything else. I forced myself to focus, but it was almost impossible. A written note? Did he think I was some sort of property Jayden had to sign off on? The thought made my stomach churn.
