Chapter 9

JESSICA point of view:

This is it this is the day that I am going to sell my bakery even though it was heart breaking for me but I have no other choice but to do this

" Soon I will achieve my dream"   I said  to myself

I took a deep breath .

I wore a white crop with jeans and i wore a simple make just eyeliner and a nude lipstick which highlights my face.

I check my watch

Shoot it's getting late , I should go now

I left the room and locked the house.

I got in my car and drove to my bakery.

I step out of my car feeling nervous to do this

"Come on jess you have to do this don't get nervous. You build this on your and soon you can open one more bigger than this" i said to myself.

With a Deep breath i entered my bakery

I mean i haven't signed so yes it still mine.

My staff are looking at me uneasy.

I walk upto them and hug each of them

Guys i know this is  all sudden but i have to do this i have talked about the job and other things you don't need to worry you still have your job just make sure you are doing your job perfectly. So don't worry. I said to them

They all nodded in unison.

No one can be kind and Hard working like you Jess Emily said.

Emily she is one of my up trusted people in my circle

Oh come on Em there is so many people who is way more hardworking than me . I said

But no one can be like you Jess. And we will miss you for sure. Em said

Oh my god guys don't worry i ain't going anywhere. I am staying here and i am going to work in a company and i do visit here often. Because this place is very close to me . It has with me good and bad. I for sure can say i will soon get back my property.

So please let's get into work every one .

Everyone nodded and went back to their works.

With a heavy sigh I went and took a round for last time .

Jessica someone called my name and That voice is familiar to me .

I turned around to see Charlie standing in the look on his face is not Devilish its shows a pure concern .

What are you doing here Charlie? I asked him.

He scratched his neck looking nervous.

I quirked my eyebrows at him

What? I asked him

Well I am the one who is buying your Bakery He said .

I stood there in shock and trying to process things.

It took some time to process and I nodded my head

Hmm its kinda surprising I hope you didn't plan something bad . I said while glaring at him.

No no dear I am not. Actually I myself now only came to know this place yours . And

I actually wanted to talk with you and Daniel. He sheepishly said

About? I asked

About something which I don't want to hide he said .

Why in the world his eyes have hint of sad? What is going on? I think this might be the chance where I can know what actually happened between Dan and Charlie . I should not let this opportunity.

Okay, but i have some questions which i ask you on the meeting. So be prepared. And you can meet us tomorrow in hospital morning. I said

Great thanks and do you want to negotiate the deal ? He asked

No i think the amount you guys said is fair. I don't want more than that . So it's okay and just promise me one thing. Never , hurt my staff or Don't fire them. And make sure you pay them well. I said.

I will, don't worry. He said

Now shall we complete the process? I asked he nodded in return.

I signed the papers in heavy heart.

I hope this decision will lead me to the right way. I thought to this myself and signed the papers.

Officially this bakery is not mine from now on .  This words keep ringing in my mind..

So I guess that's it I will see you tomorrow and I will inform about the meeting to Daniel. I said and stood upto leave.

Umm... Jesss. He called

I turned around to see him looking at me nervously.

Yes?

I am sorry he said

For?

The way I behaved at you in our first meeting. He said his eyes have guilt . I felt sorry for him .

I nodded my head and left the place.

I drove my car to the hospital.

I went to the doctor and I have prepared everything for Ma surgery.

Doctor, when is the surgery? I asked the doctor.

Are you sure ? Why don't we go for chemotherapy? The doctor asked me unsurely.

No doctor go with surgery ,I think it will be the best so please go with that. And I hope the amount is enough right? I asked . He nodded his head.

Great please do conduct the surgery as soon as possible. I said he nodded his head . With the heavy sigh i left the room .

I took a deep breath

No , I should be strong , I can be strong, I will be strong. I have to be strong. Come on Jess you can do this . Just put your brave face on. Everything will be go as the way it is .

I said to myself and went to my Room .

I opened the door to see who is infront of me.

JESSSSSSS YOU BETTER HUG ME RIGHT NOW OR ELSE I WILL CRASH YOU TO DEATH.  A voice screamed. I for sure knows whose voice is this. I let out a chuckle and we hugged.

Lily. I said . Yes that's my best friend Lilly she was always been there for me when i need her . Me , Daisy, Lilly this is our friends group. Well you all might be wondering where Daisy she is in her vacation. She works in a fashion designing company. And about Lily she works as a Editor in a magazine company. She loves her job just how much i love brownies.

Seriously Jess now brownies. Come on this girl is choking you to death. You can explain about her after some time. Now snap back  . My conscience commented. I mentally roll my eyes.

Okay okay Lil calm down will ya? I said to her in duh tone .

She relieved me from her hug and gave me a glare.

Uh oh I know that glare. Looks like someone is angry at me . I said to her pretending that I am scared of her.

Oh! Just shut up you monkey . Why in the world you didn't tell me about ma condition.?

She asked me furiously. Yes she calls Ma because she lost her parents at young age . My ma is like her ma and mom also considers her as her own daughter.

Okay I was but I got up in some other problems that's why. I said to her . She narrowed my eyes at her.

I quickly fill in the details. She was shocked. Well shocked will be understatement.

She was walking continuously on room. On seeing her My mom giggled. I chuckled  a little bit.

Are you saying that your so called friend asked for marriage? Lilly asked me

Oh! Hello what about you? Isn't he your friend? Actually its our so called old friend if I have to correct . And yes he did and I said no after that I went to park and he got shot there. And now I did sold my bakery. And ma your surgery will be held soon don't worry. I said in one breath. She stood there and stare the floor in shock still not believing my words. My mom motioned me to come beside her. I did.

Are you sure you did the right thing? She asked me.

I hesitantly nod my head.

What's wrong dear? She asked me

I don't know ma but after selling the bakery I kinda feel like my life will have lot more struggles and I feel like I am going to face some problems. I said to her. She nodded my head.

Don't over think dear. You everything happens for a reason . I am sure this must have good reason behind this and for sure I know you are an strong girl. So don't worry.

I am sure you will handle all of this. Mom comforted me

Also mom. We will be moving into Daniel house. Since the gorilla feels that we won't be safe when we are staying over our house. I said to my mom. Whose Face is now lighten up.

Are you okay? My mom asked me

Wha- and then it hit me freaking I am going to stay with him 24/7 I screamed out of my lungs.

Lily mom laughed. I glared at them.

You two better stop. I was so concentrated on my bakery mom's and that gorilla health . That I have completely forgot that I had to be with him 24/7 ughhh his stupid jokes will drive me crazy. I sighed in frustration.

Are you seriously calling me Gorilla sweetheart? A voice came from my behind . I froze on the stop and my heart is beating faster .

Why is my heart beating so fast? I thought to myself.

Are you seriously not gonna turn around? Don't you want to see me ? I thought you will be happy to see me . Guess I am wrong. He said in his sad tone . Ouch he suddenly yelled in pain. I quickly turned around to see him smirking at me .

I was to occupied to see his smirking. I was looking into his eyes. His soul. Those brown eyes is Missing something. Those eyes want something. Soon enough he started to see my eyes. I quickly averted my eyes. I nervously tuck my hair behind my ear .

Umm.... I  stuttered because of this Gorilla

Just great ,now you starting to stutter just wow. My conscience commented at my behavior

I quickly Snapped at out of it.

Hold on ! What the hell are you doing here? . You should be taking rest. Where is your so called friend Mr. Bryce? I will go and call the doctor. Stay right here. I sternly said and dashed my way towards to Door. He suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me inside. His body and mine is now touching each other . His face so close to mine.

I am perfectly fine sweetheart. He said in a husky tone.

I nervously and carefully released myself from his grip.

Does Doctor knows this? I asked him pointing him standing there. He nodded his head.

We stared each other again . Suddenly a cough interrupted us. Phew thank god just in time.

I turned around to see My mom and Lily is smiling like they talked to their High school crush. I mentally rolled my eyes.

He suddenly went and talked to my Mom

Daniel point of the view:

I went up to Mary who was like a second mother to me . I never got a chance for mother love . My dad and mom used to work a lot. They ignored Annie and me . It was very hard to grow with  different nannies . I have never felt motherly love and father son relationship. But when I am staying over with Jess she always makes me feel like I am in home.

When I heard about her health it shattered me . But I know she will be okay .

She kissed my forehead. At that moment I feel happy. I smiled.

How are you My son? She asked me

Son it feels so good to call someone call me son .

I am good aunty how are you doing?

Couldn't have been bad but I hope soon it will all change.

I nodded my head as she said

Don't worry aunty you are strong you will be back on your feet soon.

I know son . And thanks for protecting my daughter . I am happy that you are looking at her for her safety. Thank you son.

Don't need to thank me . I will give my life to save her life and yours aunty.

Jess pov

" I will give my life to save her life and yours aunty"  those words is ringing in my mind.

I feel loved by someone after my friends and mom.

My tears welled in my eyes. I quickly wipe them.

Don't you dare say that again Mister Gorilla. You already made me worry. So please don't say that. I said.

He smiled and nodded.

When is the operation? Dan asked.

Tomorrow , when are you going home? I asked him.

Now he said

And now you are going with him Lily and Mom said in unison

Me and Gorilla looked confused between these two.

May I know why I have to go with him? I asked

Lily rolled her eyes.

The operation is tomorrow . I am here . I will stay with ma you will go and look after him. Lily said

Why do I have to go ? You can go right? I asked her

Oh hello madam he took bullet shot for you not for me . If he took for me I will be at his home with him right now Lily said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes.

Fine I will go because I have to and we have to go to my house to grab some things  I told him

No need to worry sweetheart all of your stuff has been moved to my mansion. He replied calmly

What? How? House keys are with me. I told him

Tricks baby. He said.

I rolled my eyes at him

Fine gorilla. He laughed at my words it was so happy to see him laugh.

I know he only smile and laugh when his close ones around him. As far as I know he had a rough childhood which he never shared with anyone. And that is the reason why he may laugh whenever our friends gang hangout.

I thought to myself and smiled at him seeing his Happy face.

I walked to mom and kissed her forehead.

Bye ma take care I will see you in morning

I said to her. She hugged me.  She smiled at me because I know she is tired.

Take care of mom Lilly I said to Lilly she smiled

Take care of him and yourself don't stress to much. Okay? She said and I smiled at her. .

This girls know me a lot better .

Take care Dan Lilly said to Dan. He hugged her . I smiled at their bonding.

They are like a tom and jerry brother sister type of relationship. To be honest she always keep in touch with Dan but somehow I missed it.

I will pumpkin he said to her which in return she gave him her best glare. He laughed and we exited.
