Chapter 8

Jess point of view

I sat on the chair hands on my head trying to process what Just Charlie said .

Bryce came and sat next upto me . I look at him . His eyes were full of concern .

I took a deep breath.

"Bryce do you have any idea who might shot Daniel? Like his business rivals or something like? Do you have any information which could help us now?" I asked him hoping he would say yes.

He thought for a while .

"I have no clue Jess . As far as i know he always make sure everything is running on fair ".  Bryce said

"Hmm okay what is the thing about Charlie and Dan?" I asked him because for sure i know there is something going between them . Maybe it will help to find out who shot Daniel.

"Answer me Bryce what's the thing between Charlie and Dan because when Daniel saw Charlie saw in my home they both talked like they two know each other and for sure i know this thing has started before Charlie came into my Life and i want to know . "

Bryce shifted uncomfortably.

"Look J it's not my place to tell but all i can say is yes they do have a bad thing" .

"What the hell is this why is noone telling me the full truth? Fine keep your secrets to yourself i will Find out them soon".

With that i stormed off because i know if i stand there any longer i will lose my calm

I went to the hospital park to get fresh air.

"What is actually going on my life? How many secrets are there in my life? Is charlie told me the truth. I can't trust him because he behaved like a jerk but at the same time i saw honesty in his eyes . Something is wrong with him. And what had happened between Charlie and Daniel? How did Dad and Charlie know each other ughhh...... How many questions . How am i gonna find answer for this all? Wah one night and my total life is turned upside down. I still don't know what else i am going to face."

I stood there inhaling the fresh air.

Suddenly i felt a presence beside me . I turned around to see a girl sitting on a bench looking devastated . She has brown eyes and straight hair like mine. She somewhat resembled like my relative. She seemed familiar to me but I can't figure out who she is . She had tears on her eyes threatening to fall . I felt a stab in my heart.

I don't even know who she is then why am i feeling sad for her ? Why does she seem familiar to me? Who she might be?

My legs suddenly walk upto her all i see is her face which is holding some sadness.

I stood beside her.

"Hey! You okay?" I asked her nervously.

She suddenly hugged me . I was quite shocked by her move.

I took a deep breath.

"Hey hey it's okay it's going to be okay don't cry. You know your crying won't change the situation you should be brave no matter  what happens ."

She nodded her head and took a step back . She saw my face to be honest when i look closer her face kinda looks like mine the features

"Why does she somewhat look like me? Must be dreaming?" I thought to myself.

"Thanks "she said

"For what?" I asked

"For comforting me" she said

"Not a problem just remember one thing not everything is permanent and we should enjoy every second we get to live on this world. You know this society is bad it makes you feel you are useless sometimes or it even makes you feel you are responsible for all mistakes for everything bad that happens around . Remember you know yourself you should be loyal to yourself first and you always should be brave you should always be ready to face no matter what life throws at you . Everything is part of life from birth to death everything will give a new experience and teach a lesson which will help in future . Remember that". I said to her.

"Thank you so much you don't know how much it helped me i will be brave and loyal to myself"  she said

"Good" i smiled at her.

"Actually i have to go now it was nice seeing you if we ever get a chance we should hang out ". She said

"Sure bye" i said to her. "Bye" she said

With that she left that.

"Why do i have a different feeling what is happening?" I was confused about who she is

I already have got lot in my plate if I will ever meet her again i will ask her for now i have to finish the problems. I said to myself

And i went to the hospital with a new resolution

"I will find out who is behind all of this i will" i said to myself

Daniel point of view:

It's been a hour since Jess came to see me and been an hour since Bryce told me everything that happened

If Charlie didn't do it then who would have planned to shot Jess who could it be ? There is big knot in this problem untying the knot will give so many answers . Soon I will find out.

To be honest now i am worried about Jess she planned to sell her bakery . I mean come on its her dream she is been working hard from school . God that women never take helps from anyone . I still don't know how Max even managed her. Such a Stubborn women. I scoffed to myself. If she sold her bakery then what will she do for her earnings. I should ask her about this . Atleast i can be able to help her on this .

My thoughts were interrupted by a woman standing in the hallway looking through me .

Yes it was Jess the Jessica Miller who stole my heart in high school. 

" Her eyes is going to be death of mine" i said to myself

A smile crept upto her face which enlightened her whole face. When she smiles its like she is glowing with hundreds of lights around her.

She walked upto me and sat next to me her eyes never leave mine.

Are you okay? She asked me

How can i be okay you looking at me like that how can i be okay?

Ughh shut up conscience .

You know you can't make me shut up i am just telling the truth like always . You can't able to say that out loud

Bahut ho gayae now chupkaro ( Enough! Now shut up)

Yeah ! I am okay well.... How are you? I asked her .

Me? What for me ? I am good . Jess replied

Really seriously is she really think i am going to believe her if she thinks that then she is completely wrong.

Don't act smart Jess. Bryce told me everything.

That i***t i am going to kill him for sure  she said while forming her hands into Fist in annoyance .

I quirked my eyebrows at her

What? She asked

Nothing just checking you sweetheart. I said

She was frozen to spot.

What did you call me? She asked me

Alright then it's my time Daniel time to play with Jessica Miller.

What? I didn't call you. I said controling my laugh

Seriously Dan? Whatever keep it yourself .

Anyways did Bryce tell you everything? She asked me with a concern . I know what she is going to ask next. I am not gonna answer that question so i simply nodded

Do you by any chance have enemies? She asked me .

To be honest i was shocked i was expecting another question not this one. This one caught me off guard.

She waved her hands infront of mine to get my attention.

Oh! Hello Mr. Daniel Cooper what are you thinking? Answer my question. She said in playful tone

I shook my head "No i don't think so "

Okay then what is your thing between Charlie? See Daniel i seriously need to end this problem because the way that Charlie said to me is like he is trapped in something which he can't come. I don't say i trust him . But for sure i know this is not about me and Charlie its something bigger. So please tell me what is the problem between you two?

She said everything in a breath.

I took her hand and hold it .

You really want to know? I asked . She simply nodded.

Okay let's say we have bad past. I said

I can practically see her getting angry.

I know that i***t what is the bad past. It may help us. Okay you know what Just tell me one thing. Does Charlie has always been a Jerk?

I shook my head no.

Okay how do you know each other ? She asked me .

College friends i replied.

Okay and the past you are telling is about love or something that includes girl? She asked me .

I quickly shooked my head no because no we weren't always like this we are best buddies in college but when i became Ceo and Him taking over his dad's company changed lot's of things.

Okay.... I think this something more serious so i will talk about this later.  And thanks for saving my life and Sorry for the way i behaved in your office.

She get up to leave...

Jessica Miller point of view:

I got up to leave when i felt a pair of hands pulled me to the bed.

I was now in bed with Daniel his face is so close to mine.

What are you doing? Dont forget that you just took a bullet and went through an operation. I said to him

Oh! Sweet heart. I am perfectly alright with you by my side. My favourite girl with my side . He gently whispered into my ear which gave me goosebumps.

I dared not to look on his eyes.

I .... Um Daniel you should get rest. You know your wound is still not cured. You should get rest. I will get going. I tried to stand up but he restrained me by locking my whole body with his one hand.

I mean how can someone be so adamant ?

This guy can be .

Leave me Dan. I struggled to get away from him.

Try a little harder. He said.

I wish i can but I don't want to hurt you so leave me now. I said in a stern voice.

That worked he did leaved me

I quickly stood up and took a step back just to make sure that i am not that much close to him.

Okay, actually i want to ask you something . He hesitantly asked me .

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion

Bryce told me you were going to sell Bakery is is true?

I simply nodded.

And what will you do for earnings? He asked

I Will figure out something maybe i think i should apply for some jobs. I- i was cut off by his words.

"No need you will be working as my Personal assistant from tomorrow"

He said with a smirk.

I stood there in shock.

What do you mean by working as your personal assistant? I asked him again just to make sure i heard right.

Yes sweet heart you heard me right. You are going to be my P.A because we both know the situation it's not safe for you to work with anyother place. He said with a concern on his eyes.

I can protect myself. You know i went- again i was cut off

No you are going to work for me and that's final. I will tell my men to pick your stuff from your home.

Huh? What are you saying Daniel? I asked him disbelief

Yes , you are going to stay with me . No more argument this is my final decision.

Well does your ex P.A get to stay with you? I asked him out of my curiosity.

What? No! See the point is that your life is danger so it's better if you should stay with me and your mom should be with us because who knows what happens. So please try to understand. And please for once just agree. He pleaded with puppy eyes. To be honest there is no need for him to protect me and mom yet he does that. I wonder why he do it. What if my Dream is real? Nah, i may imagine things . I am sure he does it because i am his best friend.

Okay i will stay with you and i will be your P.A happy now ? I asked him

You don't know how much it means to me . I am very happy. He enthusiastically answered me.

I smiled at him

Okay i will get going. I will see you later take care.

With that i left the place.

Dan pov

I couldn't be more happier when she said yes to stay with me and work for me . This ensures that she will be safe. Soon we both may solve the problems.

"This is a chance for me Sweetheart. For me to confess my love but i don't do it just like that just wait and see how i am gonna torture you and how i am gonna make you feel loved and how i am going to make you say that you love  me . This chance is for me . You are   mine sweet heart only mine forever. "
