The car is moving, and Adrian is a silent shape beside me in the dark. My hands are in my lap. The ivory silk of the new dress is cool against my thighs. I can still feel the ghost of his fingers inside me, the wetness he licked clean. He promised his bed. He promised I would scream. I turn my head.
