Chapter 3 The Proposal

1661 Words
There was a small children's playground in the supermarket. The little boy snuggled in Jenny's arms, a small soft one, with a faint milky scent unique to small children, concentrating on playing with blocks. Jenny played patiently with her, waiting for his father to arrive. The little boy's name was Baron Garcia, but the little one insisted that Jenny call him Little Daniel, because his father's name was Daniel Garcia, and he loved his father the most. She didn't have to coax the little mixed-up devil, she didn't have to tie on her apron and get busy making dinner, at this point in time, she had a lot of time on her hands. ‘Look at the castle I built, sis!’ A small child's mind is simple, one second they are bawling, the next second they can burst out laughing. Possibly because he knew that his dad would soon be able to pick him up, or because he was accompanied by his beautiful and gentle big sister, Little Daniel soon forgot all about his panic and raised a smile. Jenny didn't mince words of praise. "Wow, you're great! You see your sister can't build it as well as you." Little Daniel pointed to the castle, innocently. ‘This is the castle, I'm the prince, my dad is the king, and we own this castle!’ He tilted his head as he said this. "Sister, do you want to live with us? I can invite you to live with us together oh." As soon as the words fell, a middle-aged woman hurried over, muttering ‘Oops, you naughty boy, why are you running around, letting me have a hard time looking for you’ as she reached out to tug on the little boy. Jenny's eyes and hands were quick, subconsciously protecting the child to avoid. She was sure that the middle-aged woman's recklessness would definitely hurt the child. The middle-aged woman stared at Jenny in surprise, asking ‘who are you’ while waving impatiently at the little girl. ‘Come here quickly, I have to get back to cooking, don't you make a mess here!’ Little Daniel was frightened and desperately tried to get into Jenny's arms. The middle-aged woman said to Jenny in no uncertain terms. "Who are you? You give him to me quickly or I'll call the police and say you abducted a child!" Jenny said in a nonchalant manner. ‘You're a funny one, you're the one who lost the child!’ If the lost thing had happened to Sarah, not to mention Eugene couldn't forgive him, even she wouldn't forgive herself. ‘Daddy!’ Little Daniel suddenly ran happily towards behind Jenny and jumped into the arms of a young man. It was Little Daniel's father, Daniel Garcia, who had arrived. He was a handsome man, handsome to what extent? It was no exaggeration to say that it was the kind that you couldn't forget after one look. Jenny couldn't help but think, was it some big star? The middle-aged woman had a weak heart, so she was simply evil. ‘Mr Garcia, this woman abducted the child when I wasn't looking, I...’ ‘Auntie you're lying, you're no good!’ Little Daniel exclaimed. ‘It was Auntie you answered a phone call and walked faster and faster and faster and faster and finally went to where there were lots and lots of people and I looked for you for a long time but I couldn't find you...’ ‘You're fired.’ Daniel Garcia's face was expressionless and uncompromising. The middle-aged woman knew she was in the wrong and held out her hand numbly. ‘It's fine if you want me to leave, you still haven't paid me this month's salary.’ Daniel Garcia hooked up the corner of his lips, revealing a mocking and cold sneer. "You still have the nerve to ask for your salary? You have to be thankful that the child met a good person, otherwise if the child had any accidents, do you still think you can stand here and bargain with me like you are now?" The middle-aged woman slipped away in grey. But the matter didn't end here. Daniel Garcia scowled as he sent a text message. It was him texting a complaint to the housekeeping company and suggesting that the woman's babysitting credentials be revoked and that she be removed from the industry for good. It was time for Jenny to go back... Back where? She had nowhere to go. That didn't seem right, she could at least stay in a hotel like she did last night. Until then, she could continue to be patient and keep going and waiting for her opportunity. ‘Hello, my name is Daniel Garcia and I'm the father of this little friend.’ Daniel Garcia stopped in front of Jenny and looked at her fixedly. As the four eyes met, Jenny couldn't help but be stunned. She could be sure that she didn't know this handsome gentleman in front of her, but when she looked at the other person carefully, it made her feel that she couldn't help but feel as if she had seen him somewhere before. Jenny looked at Daniel Garcia's hand, his fingers were long, his skin was very white, his nails were neatly trimmed, with a healthy shine. Out of politeness Jenny shook Daniel Garcia's hand for a moment, she felt the other woman's hand was hot and then quickly released it. ‘Hello sir.’ Jenny wasn't a shallow person who judged people by their looks. The fact that Eugene was a handsome man prevented her from avoiding him like a snake. At least in her case, the outside was far less important than the inside. But this young father in front of her, who was about the same age as her, had a face value that was too outstanding, as if it was God's best work, and even the most picky person would have trouble picking out any faults from his features. He was more handsome than Eugene! And handsome in a more human way, for the handsome man before him did not pretend. At first Jenny wondered if he was some big star, but soon realised that Daniel Garcia had the unbelievable looks that were even better than a big star, but a big star might not have the kingly aura that made people want to submit to him for no reason, the thunderous way he handled things. Daniel Garcia is not moving as he surveys Jenny. Little Daniel is sitting next to her, happily eating a cupcake, looking up at Jenny from time to time, his eyebrows arched and adorable. Helping a child lost with an adult to call a parent, accompanying the child to wait for the parent, for most people, it was a simple task. Jenny didn't take it seriously at all, and had planned to walk away, but when she didn't, the little boy's father insisted on thanking her properly, so she had no choice but to sit with the strange father and son in an upscale restaurant. Jenny on the surface calm and collected, but actually uncomfortable. She was a loner by nature, and after five years of social isolation, she had almost lost her basic social skills. Of course, she didn't count the time she faced Eugene and his daughter, when she had lowered herself to the dust, and to call her a nanny would be an exaggeration, to put it mildly, she was a slave with no human rights and no dignity to speak of. Little Daniel rubbed a handful of cream on his mouth, and the waiter took him to the bathroom to clean it. After Daniel Garcia expressed his thanks again in a sincere tone, he next began to enjoy his dinner in relative silence, during which he glanced down at his mobile phone a few times before taking a sip of his juice, his long eyelashes drooping slightly as the conversation took a steep turn. ‘May I ask if you have a boyfriend?’ Daniel Garcia asked bluntly and abruptly, and Jenny froze, not even reacting for a moment. How can you ask this question when you're meeting someone for the first time? She subconsciously shook her head. Daniel Garcia's next sentence made Jenny directly suspect that she had misheard. ‘So what do you think of me?’ ‘...’ Seeing Daniel Garcia staring at himself with dark eyes, looking serious and patient as he waited for her answer, Jenny was puzzled. ‘Uh, pretty good...’ Just pretty good? Of course not, he was near perfect just from his appearance and temperament! At least Jenny, who was alone in her ignorance, had never seen a man more dazzling than him! The corners of Daniel Garcia's mouth turned up, the air of rejection in his body dispersed a little by this smile. ‘I'm twenty-four years old, a single dad, currently holding a publicly traded company, with an annual income of over eight figures, I don't have any problems raising a family, so please get a licence to marry me and start a family.’ ‘...’ A marriage proposal?!!!! Jenny was breathlessly shocked! She suspected she was dreaming, an absurd and bizarre dream! She had just got divorced today, and only a few hours later, someone came to ask for her hand in marriage, and it was a handsome and golden man. This was much like a woman who was desperate, standing at the crossroads of life and wandering diffusely, suddenly getting God's favour, sending her a handsome domineering president, and then taking her to the pinnacle of her life... But very soon, Jenny shook her head in mockery to herself, wasting away for a few years, she didn't even bother to do such a beautiful daydream anymore. Wait a minute! Jenny was surprised, Can't it be that the experience that makes herself feel unbelievable at this time is the opportunity given by the system?
