Knight’s POV My conversation with Conan was brief, just like I wanted it to be. I wasn’t one to talk much—just a few words were enough to convey all I needed to say. So after signing the final handover document, I turned to him, eyes hard. “You missed work without permission,” I started, getting up from the couch. I watched his eyes flicker with guilt.
