Knights POV
My eyes remained on Aria’s sleeping form for most of the night. For someone who talked big about not being nervous, she fell asleep pretty fast the moment she was in my arms. I was greatly tempted to chuckle when her breathing steadied, but I couldn’t risk waking her up, so I held it in.
If I was being truthful, I was still surprised she came back to me on her own, but I decided not to question it. Like she said, we had no idea what going forward would mean for us, so we might as well remain in the present.
Her face looked so peaceful while she slept, unlike the expression she wore daily, and it was really nice to see her like that. I went to sleep not long after, and the next moment my eyes snapped open, sunlight already seeping through the curtains.
