Her worry was palpable in her demeanor. Juliette had been pacing back and forth in her apartment for the past fifteen minutes, worrying hysterically about Rebecca. Juliette had never seen the woman storm off as she did in all their years of friendship, and she was already imagining the worst of an already dire situation. The call would either go to voicemail or ring out until it was disconnected any time she dialed Rebecca's phone. She couldn't give up, though. Juliette had no idea how she would forgive herself if anything bad happened to her. “Please, Rebecca, pick up the phone, and let's talk about this.” She expressed her concern, rocking back and forth in the same position.
