Episode 3

Chapter 3

Nicola's POV

I was sitting next to my mate's bed in the clinic while the doctor examined her, I hated to see other male touching her but he needed to... in order to help her.. although the weird.. but fascinating thing was that almost all her wounds healed by the time I brought her to  the hospital.. I mean, wolves heal quickly but her healing was out of this world...

When the nurses wiped the blood off her face and body, the bruises had almost completely healed, there was not a single scratch left on her, except for the knife wound in her abdomen.. the Luna, her own mother stabbed her with silver knife.. there were some other bruises on her body.. as I was examining her body the doctor  spoke.. 

"Mr. Morey, the wounds and bruises are healing nicely, she is remarkable, I haven't seen a wolf heal so fast, she managed to heal miner cuts, bruises and even swelling in no time..  tho the wound will take a while since there was silver involved but she should be okay, I think it'll take a few days to heal, and her  her ribs will need a few days to heal properly as well"

"Ribs?? She broke her ribs??"

"It appears so Mr. Morey.. aghh, poor kid, she doesn't get a break from beating at all does she??"

"What do you mean by that??"

I said feeling my anger raising even more..

"Well, Skylar here is our daily patient, she comes in with different types of injuries every day, like stab wounds, cuts, we had to remove some shattered glass shards from her right hand not long ago or like broken ribs, she had 7 broken ribs 2 days ago, I think she was beaten  by the Beta's daughter, but Skylar never says who hurts her, she always says that she is just that clumsy.. she is too sweet for this world... poor girl never gets a break"

The doctor said sighing and genuinely concerned..

"I want to see ALL of her medical files and the list of treatments she received.."

"Right away Alpha" he replied walking away

I was fuming with anger at the information the doctor just gave me...

"And doctor.. Why the hell would you discharge her if she had 7 f*****g ribs broken two days ago??"

my anger got the best of me and I was holding the doctor by his throat.. if not for Ace I would have snapped his neck...

"I am sorry Mr. Morey but I tried, I told Skylar she needed to rest but she refused to be admitted, she said that she had to work, that she would get in more trouble if she stayed, she practically ran away from here"

"And why the HELL didn't you stop her?? What kind of doctor even are you??"

"I am sorry alpha but she is the Alpha's daughter and I can't disobey her commands, plus she heals like no wolf I have ever encountered, she is truly remarkable, her ribs were completely healed after only a couple hours so she refused to stay"

"How's that possible??"

"I would like to know as well but Skylar refuses to let us do tests or stay for observation every time, so I couldn't tell you"

Ace and I looked at him to see if he was lying but he was telling the truth.. then he said he needed to get some IV and some vitamins set up for my mate and left.. we just nodded..

"That's f****d up man, they treated her like a servant, they didn't even  consider treating her as a living person, who treats their own blood this way??"

"I will make them pay for what they did to her, she's so fragile... so beautiful.... 

You'll stay guard 24/7 Ace,  if I am not here, you are not to leave her side, you are to watch her like a hawk, she is not to be left alone without one of us by her side for even a second!!! No one comes in without me knowing and NO ONE.. and I mean NO FREAKING ONE touches her or so much as looks at her.. Understood??"

"Yes Alpha, I won't leave the Luna's side for a second"

I just nodded and sat  down by her bed again.. the doctor came in soon and hooked her up to the IV and some other things...

"How long till she till she wakes up??"  I asked the doctor

"Well.. it's hard to tell, she does heal surprisingly fast for someone who doesn't have a wolf but time will tell, she needs to sleep, she's tired and her body needs rest"

"Hold up.. what do you mean she has no wolf??"

"Well.. her birthday was a week ago and when she was supposed to shift.. her wolf never came, my guess is it's because she is so thin and malnourished that she wouldn't be able to handle it so her wolf stayed dormant to keep her safe"

I didn't say anything and let him finish his job.. when he left I turned to my beautiful mate.. then I remembered that the  doctor referred to her as Bee, that must be her name, it's as beautiful as her.

As the doctor left the room Aiden came running with his Luna at his heel..

"WHERES SHE?? WHERE IS MY SISTER??

Upon hearing his words my anger that was boiling inside surfaced

"You son of a b***h, how dare you call her your sister and yet allow anyone and especially your own mother to treat her like a rogue??"  I yelled at him as I held him by his neck

Ace showed me away from him and tried to calm me down

"I did not know, I always have he back, ALWAYS,  wasn't there but whenever I am with her no one dares to touch her, I have made it clear to everyone hat if they touch her or hurt her in any way I will make them pay and I have done so, I do everything I can but most of the time she doesn't even tell me who hurts her"

He said sincerely but I didn't give a shit..

"You can't even protect her from your own parents and you expect me to believe that you have the abuse of the whole pack towards her under control??

I snapped at him again

"I AM TRYING" he yelled back

As we were arguing we heard Skylar wincing in pain and we all turned and ran to her..

It's been hours since I brought her here, it was almost 1 am, we was watching her sleep.. she was turning and twisting a lot in her sleep when she finally  started opening  her eyes...

Skylar's POV

I woke up in a room hooked up to some machine and all I  could here was beeping.. as I was concentrating on the sounds around me suddenly I was hit with that mesmerizing scent of snow and mint and I knew instantly that I was not alone..

I looked to my left and I saw the MOST handsome, a straight up drop dead gorgeous man staring back at me with a smile on his lips..

Mannn this guy was handsome as hell.. he  was muscular, I could see his toned muscles and abs through his shirt.. he had medium jet black hair, most gorgeous deep blue eyes and a little scar on his right brow which made him all the more sexy.. as I was basically drooling over him I heard his sweet voice..

"Hello  beautiful"

"Hi"  I said blushing

I looked away from him in embarrassment and I noticed Aiden sitting in the couch opposite my mate..

"Hey sis, you are awake, you had me worried half to death"

"Aha.. Half is the key word, you are still alive and so am I" we both laughed at my lame attempt to make a joke, he kissed my forehead and gave me a hug when we heard a low growl from behind me, Aiden looked up and let go of me after a second

"Hey Aiden, can you give us a moment please?"

"Sure thing, call me if you need anything"

"Will do, thanks for being here.... and sorry.. for ruining your special day, hope Lily doesn't hate me"

"She would never, and you have done nothing wrong, now get some rest" he said and gave me another hug before leaving my room..

after Aiden left I turned to the sexy stranger next to me and he smiled at me sweetly, causing me to blush and look away out of shyness

"You're cute when you get shy" he said chuckling while removing strands of her from my eyes..

His touch instantly made me feel electricity running throughout my body, the tingling sensation forming everywhere he touched.. must be The Mate bond.. SWEET...

"Hello, I'm Skylar, but most people call me Sky.." I said still blushing and mad at myself for stumbling over words..

he chuckled again and said

"I am Nicola Morey, nice to officially meet you  Skylar"

"Nice to meet you too"

"How are you feeling??"

"I am a little tired but.. other than that, can't complain"

"Hello Luna, good to see you awake" said a tall man walking in my room

"What??" I asked wide-eyed

"That's Ace, my Beta"

"Nice to meet you Luna"

"Nice to meet you too but can you please call me Skylar?"

He looked at Nicola who nodded and then back at me and smiled

"Of course, Skylar"

"Thank you" I turned to Nicola and asked

"What was that about him calling me Luna now??"

"Well.. obviously you felt it as well as I did and know that we are mates and that would mean that you are his future Luna, that is if you are not planning on rejecting me,, are you??" he asked half jokingly 

"NO" I almost yelled and he chuckled

"Of course not.. sorry that was a little loud"

"Don't be, I like that you are sure that you want to be with me just as much as I want to be with you"  he said making my heart whole and happy

I was so  happy that he didn't want to reject me..

"You are my future Luna beautiful, you are my mate and I intend to love and care for you for as long as we live" he  said while kissing my hand and I couldn't help the tears that escaped my eyes..

"Why the tears angel?" he asked concerned

"I'm sorry, they're happy tears I promise, you are just so kind and sweet and I can't believe you don't want to reject me because that would hurt so much and I kind of don't want to lose you.."

"Baby" he said chuckling "Of course I don't want to reject you, why would you even think that?? I want to be your mate and love you and be with you, I am not leaving you and I am most definitely not rejecting you"

he said kissing my forehead and I smiled as I hugged him back..

as we were having a little sweet moment the doctor came in and was a little taken aback that I was awake.. he was holding some papers in his hand which he was also examining with shocked expression..

"Hey doc, I'm back" I joked

"Yes you are Sky, no offense but I would love to never see you as a patient here"

"Bored of me already doc??" I joked again and we both smiled

"I am surprised to see you awake so soon, with your injuries and you know.. no wolf, you shouldn't have woken up for at least another day... But considering how shocking your test results are.. I am not really all that surprised"

"Is that a good thing??" Nico and I both asked at the same time

"Yes, because you are almost completely healed, your ribs should still be healing but yet.. they are completely healed in under a few hours.. which I can't explain.. only the silver knife wound is left and even that I expect to be healed by tonight so you should be completely healed by morning"

"How is that possible?? You said she had no wolf and yet she's completely healed in a few hours??" Nicola asked confused and the doctor just nodded and left to run more tests..  Nicola and I were alone again and he was looking at me concerned..

"It's not true" I said to him

"What??" he looked at me confused

"What he said about me and my wolf, it's not true, I do have a wolf, her name is Fenris, we met when I first shifted on my birthday a week ago but she is not a regular wolf so I lied about shifting and said I had no wolf to keep her safe"

"That's interesting, my wolf's name is Fenrir, their names are almost identical.. that's quite unheard of and unique but I think it's totally cool" he said amazed and excited and I just laughed

"Really?? That really is intriguing but also totally badass" we both laughed at that

"It is" he replied smiling

"So, what did you mean when you said Fenris was not a regular wolf??" he asked interested..

"I can't quite explain it, and I don't really know why she is the way she is but.. she sure is special.. anyway, the only way I can describe to you  how she is different or unique is if I show you, but I don't want anyone in this pack seeing her, I don't trust them not to hurt me"

"They will never hurt you again, I promise, I'll kill everyone if they even think about hurting you" he said serious and hugged me again..

"Nicola.. how long was I out??"

"About 7 hours, maybe even 8"

"Really?? damn, that's the most I have slept in my entire life, I blame the bed, it's way too cozy and comfy" I said laying back down

"Darling.. you think that hospital beds are  comfortable??" Nicola asked half amused.. 

"It beats the hell out of sleeping on the floor" I said casually, he chuckled at my answer but when he realized I wasn't kidding his eyes saddened and soon  he was furious..

"What do you mean it beats sleeping on the floor Sky?? You don't have a room?? Or a bed?? Aren't you the Alpha's daughter, how don't you have a room??" he asked furious..

"Don't worry about it, when I'm discharged, I'll show you my room.. although I have a feeling you won't approve, and as far as being the Alpha's daughter goes, I am his bastard child, he never wanted me but felt sorry for me and took me in, the Luna sure as HELL never cared, the only one in this entire pack who loves me and treats me well is my brother" I said smiling..

I felt myself tired again and couldn't help the yawns that escaped my lips.. Nicola  chuckled that adorable chuckle that I already fell in love with and told me to go to sleep and gave me a kiss on the forehead, as I laid back down he stood up and started to leave, I immediately shot up and called out

"Nicola, where are you going?? Please don't leave me" I said and immediately felt ashamed.. I hated sounding so desperate..

Nicola just giggled and said

"Don't worry sweetheart, I'm just going to get some water, I'll be back before you know it"

"Oh, okay, can I come??"

"You aren't supposed  to leave your bed little one" he said smiling

"Oh please, please, please, I am okay plus you heard what the doctor said, I'm completely healed, he's just keeping me here because he wants me to rest more.. pleaseee" I said as I did my best puppy-dog-eyes and to my surprise .. he caved, I can't believe that actually worked.. 

After getting some water we came back to my room, I climbed in bed and watched as Nicola sat on the couch near me.. for some reason I felt very cold and Fenris insisted that I ask our mate to sleep with us.. as I was about to get comfy in my bed I sat up and stared at Nicola.. he looked back concerned.. and I spoke..

"Nico, can I ask you something??

"Of course baby, anything, what's wrong??

"Nothing is wrong... just, I can't help but feel cold and I don't know why, and I just wanted to ask if  you could sleep next to me.. like I can scoot over and I think we can both fit and honestly.. I want to be closer to you, maybe it's the bond or my  wolf who keeps pushing me because she wants her mate but.. anyway.. would you mind sleeping with me??" 

I couldn't help the warmth I felt at the size of the smile that formed on his face after hearing my question, he stood up and walked towards my and whispered in my ear as he laid next to me 

"I would love to baby, I will never say no to being close to you"

I felt tingling throughout my body as he brushed his lips against my ear as he whispered.. he laid next to me and I immediately snuggled up into him, feeling peaceful and complete, Goddess he smelled so good.. I remember his hands drawing circles on my back to comfort me and I dozed off to the most peaceful sleep of my life...
