Chapter 5

Skylar's POV

I woke up the next morning cuddled up with my handsome mate, I felt so safe and comfortable in his arms, I know I've only known him 3 days but I can't help but feel attracted to him, I trust him with all I have and I can't explain it.. it just makes sense to love him and trust him, it's not just a mate bond tho.. I somehow know that I should trust him, I can't help but feel every pure thought and intention he has towards me.. I don't know what it is but for sure but I know that I can trust him, it feels right.. it's a sense or something like that but.. I can't quite put my finger on it..

Nicola's movement brought me back from my thoughts and I caught him staring at me, he was smiling and damn it if this wasn't the best view in history... I could so get used to waking up to this every morning...

"Morning sleepy head" I teased

"Morning beautiful" he said as he kissed my forehead

"This is the BEST sleep I have had in years" I said breaking the silence again

Nico chuckled and kissed me softly, sparks flew across my body instantly, burning my skin everywhere he touched.. I couldn't get enough of my perfect mate.. I wanted the kiss to last longer so I opened my mouth, allowing him to take full control and as expected, Nico waisted no time, his tongue slid into my mouth and he deepened the kiss.. it was amazing, we parted lips a couple minutes later to catch our breaths..

"I could get used to waking up to this every day" Nico said and my eyes widened

"What?? Skylar.. Did I say something wrong??" he asked concerned

"What?? No, no.. not at all babe, it's just.. when you were asleep I was kinda watching you and I said the same thing about waking up to this every day and it surprised me that you said the exact same thing that I did.. that's all" I said smiling and immediately a smile appeared on his face as well

"Oh and.. by the no one calls me Skylar, pretty much everyone calls me Sky.. lol" 

"I think that they are both pretty and cute but if you like Sky better, that's cool by me... and by the way, I like that you gave me a nickname already as well, no one calls me Nico but you... and also... I like it when you call me babe better" he said while winking at me and I couldn't help but blush a little...

"What should we do today??" I asked getting up

"Well, I have to attend the Alpha meeting today in 20 mins or so and when that's done and taken care of we can go grab something to eat and then we'll get our stuff and go back to our pack"

"Our pack??" 

"What's mine is now yours as well angel" he said sweetly and I blushed again

"How does that sound?? If you want to do something else we can do that too" he said

"No, your plan sounds good and to be honest I can't wait to get out of here, it's LONG overdue.. I'd really like to get out of here, although I will miss Aiden a hella lot"

"He can always come visit babe, it will be okay"

"Okay, no go get you butt in the shower" I said almost laughing, he chuckled and nodded as he headed for the shower..

"Hey babe, do you mind if I go out for a walk while you attend that boring meeting?? I'll get my things from my room too and start packing our things for our trip back to the pack..."

"Of course you can angel but Ace is going with you, I don't trust the pack members here to let you go on your own, they've already hurt you too many times when I wasn't here and I won't let them hurt you any more now that I am here"

"It's okay really, they can't do anything to me, I can handle them, I don't need a babysitter really" 

"Baby, Ace is not your babysitter, and I trust that you can handle them but I worry about you and as I said I don't trust the pack members so Ace will be there to make sure no one crosses a line again, I don't want to take any chances"

"Okay, he can come, I like Ace" He smiled to my agreement but as soon as I said I liked Ace he gave me a low growl and said 

"MINE" I couldn't help the laugh that escaped my lips 

"Not like that silly, I like him as a friend, he's like the only friend I have made in my entire life"

"What's the meeting about anyway?" I asked suddenly interested

"About our alliances mostly oh and I need to ask about your papers and documents, you will no longer be a member of this pack"

"But I'm not a member of this pack, my father kept me after he found out I was his pup but he never accepted me as a part of his pack since I was a bastard child."

"WHAT?? Wait I thought you were Aaron and Eva's daughter, there was a word that they had a daughter, but I never knew that Eva wasn't your mother"

"Oh yea, they say that it is solely our pack's matter and no one is allowed to speak of the details outside the pack borders, the Luna didn't want anyone to know that her perfect mate had cheated on her, so the torment began"

"Then why did you stay?? From what I have witnessed you have never been treated nicely by anyone in this pack, so why didn't you run away?? When you turned 18 you could have left, they can't hold you"

"I know, I was planning on leaving, I admit I was scared at some point, because crappy or not this is a pack and if I left.. I would be a rogue, plus I didn't want to leave Aiden, he is literally the only family I have, well.. the only family that actually treats me like a family lol.. and as you know world is not very kind to rogues, especially the female ones but I was going to leave anyway.. I only stayed because of the graduation, I wanted to get my diploma, it's the only good thing that came out of this pack, I got it the day of the Luna Ceremony, I was gonna leave that day but I bumped into you and you know the rest"  I said... forcing a smile

"I am so sorry you had to go through all this and all on your own, I promise to get you away from here soon and make you happy and create happy memories with you, and make up for every bad thing you have gone through and replace them with new and happy things that we will do and enjoy together.."

"I couldn't have asked the Moon Goddess for a more perfect mate, I am glad I found you baby"

"I'm glad I found you too baby"

"Enjoy your shower, I'll go grab my stuff" I told him and pecked his lips 

"Ace will be waiting outside, I already linked him" I nodded and kissed him again, when I got dressed I headed out and surely enough Ace was waiting outside the door

"Hey Ace, how are you today??" I asked cheerfully

"A bit homesick I think and sleepy too but otherwise perfect" he said and we both bust out laughing

"How about I make us breakfast and then we go grab my stuff and maybe squeeze in a little walk??"

"You had me at 'I'll make us breakfast' " I laughed at that again and we walked to the kitchen, I made us waffles with my special recipe and chicken tenders with a BUNCH of spice love (I LOVE spicy stuff)

and served us both a plate, tho mine was significantly smaller than Ace's plate as I am not used to eating large meals... we ate and talked about what the pack was like back at Black Moon, I was still in shock at the number of pack members and the size of the pack in general...

As we finished our breakfast and were about to leave to get my things we heard someone scream my name..

"SKYLAR... Where are you you little b***h??" soon after that we saw Eva came in the kitchen with Cara by her side and immediately they glared at me, she was furious but I ignored her and tried walking past them but Eva grabbed me by the hair and threw me against the wall.. 

"What the hell Eva??" I yelled

That b***h, I'm pretty sure I heard a bone crack..

"You.. you bitch.. it's because of you that my own son is against me... he hates me and it is because of YOU that I have to face punishment"

"What the hell are you talking about??"

I looked up and saw Ace running to me as I was getting up, he had concern in his eyes, when I assured him I was fine he turned to the evil duo behind him.. Ace was fuming, he was very defensive now and was exuding anger, I knew that he was so protective not only because I was his best friend's mate, but because he respected and treated me like his Luna already.... as Ace was about to charge at Eva for hurting me Cara lunged at him and distracted him as Eva ran towards me and grabbed me  by the hair again...

Before I could move she injected me in the neck with something that left a sharp pain in my neck and soon the pain grew and radiated throughout my entire body, I fell to the ground, unable to move.. all I could feel was the agonizing pain running through me and al I could do was SCREAM

Ace immediately ran to me

Ace's POV

"Skylar, oh goddess, Sky... stay with me please... don't close your eyes.. SKYLAR" I couldn't stop the anger building up inside me

"What the hell did you do" I screamed at the b***h Eva.. and it was just then that the smell hit me.. it was wolfsbane, I was sure of it.. I had to get help and FAST..

I mind-linked Nicola right away

*NICOLA GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW AND GET THE DOCTOR.. HURRY"

*Ace what the f**k is going on"

*That lunatic mother of hers injected Skylar with wolfsbane and she is barely hanging in there, her pulse is weakening, HURRY MAN!!*

*I WILL KILL HER.. ON MY WAY, ACE KEEP HER ALIVE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!*

*Yes Alpha*

As I was about to take Skylar to the pack doctor Eva lunged at me causing me to fall with Skylar in my arms...

"Don't you dare make a move, do not touch her, she isn't leaving here alive, I will make her pay for ruining my life"

"Stay away from her or I won't hesitate to snap your neck" I warned

Just then Cara clutched down and twisted both of Skyler's arms and broke them in a split second, knowing damn well that she can't heal on her own due to the wolfsbane in her system.. 

She took me by surprise as she came up to her from the back...

I ran to her and snapped Cara's neck, killing her on the spot

"Now, let this be a lesson to all of you, touch my Luna or try to come close to her again and I'll make sure you end up like this b***h"

I said coldly.. I could feel the anger inside me rising, Eva staring at me with pure fear in her eyes

Skylar's POV

* Shift *

* What?? Fenris what are you talking about?? We are too weak for that, I can feel the wolfsbane in our system*

*Trust me Skylar, do it, I would never suggest something that would hurt you*

*Fenris are you sure?? What if the shift hurts you??*

*Shift Sky, we can take it, you have no idea about the powers we possess, as you know I am no ordinary wolf and you are no ordinary human, shift, if you shift I will be strong enough to heal the both of us, it's the only way you can save us both*

Without thinking twice about it I gave control to Fenris, I didn't care that they would see my wolf, since I was drained of any ounce of energy and even emotion, I knew that my wolf would be white and everyone would know what I was but I didn't really give a damn at this pint.. and sure enough, as soon as I shifted I could sense that all eyes were on Fenris, they were in shock when they saw her white fur  scared, I could feel their confusion and disbelief..

My wolf was easily the size of a male alpha, meaning that she was huge, bigger than regular wolves and even alphas, she was definitely no ordinary wolf,,, as soon as I shifted I could feel myself healing and the wolfsbane disappearing from my system.. soon I could stand up, I immediately walked to Ace and jumped in front of him in a defensive stance.. I threw Eva away from him by who was running full speed at him with a silver knife in hand... she immediately hit the wall and I heard at least one bone crack as she fell to  the floor.. she quickly shifted and  lunged at me but Fenris easily dodged her and slammed into Eva's wolf, making her howl in pain...

I backed away and stood in front of Ace who was looking at me with pure shock and disbelief in his eyes..

When I looked at Eva she was getting ready to lounge at me again but instead of fighting her I just roared... 

The roar Fenris just let out was earth shattering, it made Eva's wolf immediately hang her head in defeat and compliance...

The tone of Fenris' roar was commanding and Alpha like, she couldn't ignore it if she wanted to, and even tho I myself had forgotten that I am an Alpha, my wolf sure as hell knew who we were!!
