“Akira I need you in my chambers” a voice called out to me. I halted and turned to look at Prince Victor looking at me expectantly. I nodded, and went to his chambers, my brows furrowed. “Everything is clean, what am I suppose to do here Prince Victor?” I asked. His eyes dulled,  “I didn’t ask for you to come here to clean the chambers, Ira.” He softly said. “Forgive me, if you do not have any chores for me then I need to go because I do have tasks that I need to complete.” I stoically replied He sighed, “I need to talk to you so please have a seat.” “I can’t sit in your.. chambers, it’s not appropriate.” “I want us to be friends again Ira” he said nonchalantly. Anger surged through me as I gritted my teeth, “I don’t think we ever were friends to begin with, and I do not wish to be your friend either way.” His eyes widened and he stood walking closer to me, “I know things have been difficult but- “You are to be crowned king soon, Prince Victor. And I am.. I am the lady’s maid. I cannot be your friend- “You are Tori’s friend, aren’t you?” He questioned offended. For the first time in two years I looked into his eyes as anger surged through me hearing his intrusive tone, “She has been a friend to me, she has been by my side through my worst times. I’d say she’s earned my friendship and loyalty, if anything I owe her my life.” I spoke loudly as I saw his face pale. I looked away, “Tomorrow is a special day for her, the swayamvara is going to take place, I’d appreciate if you focus on that and let me also prepare for the arrangements. Prince” I bowed my head and left fuming. He wanted to be my friend? Not if my life depended on it.
