Chapter 17: The First Fight

1314 Words
Sienna woke alone in the middle of the night. She was befuddled why she was awake when she heard voices echoing up from the back patio. She glanced at her phone, 3 AM. She tried to muffle out their voices, putting a pillow over her head, turning the music up, but she could still hear them. It felt like she was meant to hear this conversation. “I just think a girlfriend would be a lot of work.” She heard Stephen’s voice first. “Who wants someone telling them what to do all the time? Just bang them and leave them!” “She is not like that. I get to do whatever I want whenever I want to. She doesn’t want me to get into trouble, but she is not telling me what to do all the time.” Jaden’s voice responded. “But still girls are a lot of work, always whining or crying.” Stephen replied. “Are you at least getting anything out of it?” This line of questioning was really starting to irritate Sienna. Who demeans women like this? “Seriously? I mean she is hot, she is easy to talk to and she really is low maintenance. She does not expect a lot out of me.” Jaden replied. “But is it worth it, if you are not getting some?” Stephen pivoted the conversation back to s*x. “Come on, Stephen, it is me. Of course, I am.” Jaden boasted, Stephen’s laugh echoed up to Sienna increasing her anger and embarrassment. Sienna had never felt more embarrassment. How could he talk about what they had been doing in private to someone she sees multiple times a week? She got up and locked her bedroom door, climbed back into bed, and pulled the covers over her head. Maybe if she pretended it did not happen, she would be able to forget the conversation. She felt like their conversation was still bouncing around in her head which infuriated her even further. Grabbing her phone, she cranked up the volume of the music. Her anger got the best of her and she decided to send Jaden a text. Sienna: If you talk about what we do in public, then nothing will happen in private. My door is locked. Leave me alone. She hit send and turner her ringer off. Pulling the covers back over her head, and eventually falling into a fitful sleep. Sienna spent the rest of the weekend playing softball and ignoring Jaden. She needed to focus and he was a very childish distraction she did not have time for. When Melly pulled back up to the town house on Sunday evening after the tournament, Jaden’s figure became apparent on their front porch, and he had on a particularly sad face. Her mom looked in her direction, raising an eyebrow. Sienna just shrugged her shoulders. At that, her mother rolled her eyes, muttered something about teenagers and headed into the house. Sienna took her time getting out of the car, and unloading her gear from the trunk. Finally, she took a deep breath, before shutting the trunk and walking up to Jaden. “I’m sorry.” Jaden blurted out. “Do you even know what you are sorry for?” Sienna asked, irritated. She really was starting to like having Jaden around, but hated the drama. “I assume you heard Stephen and I. But it was just guy talk.” Jaden said reaching for her hand. Sienna wanted to give in, but her anger had yet to subside. She pulled her hand back and placed it on her hip. Jaden looked up at her with sad brown eyes. “I will not be the butt of your jokes with your friends. And if you want to be with me, the physical aspect of our relationship is not something you brag to your buddies.” “I made a mistake. I didn’t think you’d ever hear it.” Jaden said, his eyes begging for forgiveness. “You said it at my house, where I live. Are you saying you don’t feel bad about saying it, just feel bad I heard about it?” Sienna asked, picking up on his wording. “No. I feel bad about saying it. I swear.” Jaden replied, looking guiltier if at all possible. “I am a private person. If you can’t handle that, get to walking.” Sienna sighed. She could not handle the gossiping most teenagers enjoyed. Jaden did not move. He continued looking up at her from his spot on the stairs, unflinching. “Alright. You can come in for a bit if you want.” Sienna walked up the steps and opened the door, and looked back at him. He stood up to follow her into the house. She put her gear by the door, and fetched herself some water. Jaden trailed behind her like a lost puppy. She sat down on the couch, and he quickly sat down beside her. Never before had she seen Jaden looking so dejected. Usually, he oozed confidence and happiness poured out of him. In this moment, he just looked pitiful. She moved and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “Come on. I’m calmed down. You should calm down too.” Sienna said, hoping to lighten the somber mood. “I just mess everything up.” He said, finally looking up at her. “No, you do not. It was a mistake. You have learned your lesson. Just take a deep breath.” Sienna replied, as she grabbed up his hands and began massaging circles into his palms. Jaden closed his eyes, and took a deep breath in and out. Finally, he opened his eyes and gave her a weak smile. “I’m so sorry.” “We will make it past this, we have learned something about each other. And we have had our first fight!” Sienna said, as she squeezed his hands. “I’m learning and I will be better.” He squeezed her hand back. “You better.” Sienna winked at him. Jaden placed a kiss on her cheek and murmured, “I will.” Sienna turned until her lips found his lips. He deepened the kiss and pushed her back until she was laying down on the couch. He held himself up with his forearm, keeping the majority of his weight off of her. He never broke the contact of the kiss. She felt him grinning while kissing her, causing a smile to spread across her face effectively stopping the kiss. “What?” she asked, looking up at him. “I am just happy we were able to resolve this fight.” He smiled again, before leaning down to kiss her again. The time, she deepened the kiss, pulling him tighter against her body. The need to be close to him after the tension between them was overwhelming. Feeling the heat of his body pressed against hers, was making the heat inside her rise as well. Jaden had one arm still supporting the majority of his weight above her, while he slipped his other hand under her uniform top. Sliding it up her side before reaching her sports bra, feeling his hand on her bare skin sent tingles up and down Sienna’s body. He started playing with the band of the sports bra, but it was brand new and not going anywhere. “What is this thing, Fort Knox?” Jaden pulled back and looked at her. “Well, I don’t really want them to go anywhere.” She replied, shrugging. “They should outlaw those bras.” Jaden huffed. “Probably good thing for the bra, it reminded me I really need a shower.” Sienna said, sitting up. “I could join.” He joked. She just rolled her eyes. “Probably better not. You should head home. I have to get showered and do homework.” She stood up and started towards the door. Jaden wrapped his arms around her waist, placing kisses on her neck. He spun her around to face him, and pulled her in for another kiss. She finally broke the kiss breathless, and rested her forehead on his. “I’ll miss you.” Jaden whispered. “You will see me tomorrow.” She grinned at him. “But still, it’s too far from now.” He grinned back, he pecked her on the lips and headed for the door. “Bye Sienna.” “Goodbye Jaden.”
