Chapter 2: Mystery Boy

Sienna gasped and stood up rather quickly. Ice from her cup flew everywhere. Blushing 50 shades of crimson, it became apparent one of Brody’s cronies had escaped the basement.                 Scrambling to clean up the ice while avoiding meeting this strangers eyes, she had picked up most of the pieces when he decided to help her. As he bent down, Sienna moved at the same time. Their heads collided sending them both sprawling. Sienna looked up with her blue green eyes watering. Her eyes locked with his chocolate brown eyes. His dark, long eyelashes would cause envy even in the most confident girls. He looked amused by their current situation. She rubbed the back of her head trying to ease the ache.                 “Well this has been embarrassing and awkward,” Sienna mumbled straightening up, quickly darting away from him.                 He chuckled and said, “I’m having a blast.”                 Sienna rolled her eyes and finished cleaning up the ice.                 “What are you doing up here?” She asked as she rinsed her cup out.                 “The other guys said Brody had a hot sister. I was just seeing if that was true,” he smirked.                 Sienna’s cheeks flushed again. Keeping her back to him, she went back to filling her cup with ice and then water.                 “What are you like 12?” she asked sarcastically.                 “Age is just a number,” was his only reply.                 She turned around, taking him all in. He was about 6’, on the skinnier side with slight muscles. He had curly, black hair with a spatter of freckles over his face. A slight smile lingered over his handsome features. There’s no way this guy is 12.                 “So, you really are 12.” Sienna said crossing her arms, in an attempt to keep whatever dignity remained as she had clearly just checked him out.                 “No.” Was his only reply, as if he wanted to remain mysterious.                 “Alright then.” Sienna murmured as she walked towards the living room.                 “You know you could come hang out with us downstairs,” he suggested following her.                 “Yeah, that’s not going to happen,” she retorted, sitting down on the couch with her legs under her.                 “You don’t know what you are missing,” he replied heading towards the stairs.                 “Fifteen-year-old boys making jokes about farts, pass,” she said turning her attention to her phone.                 “Better than going to bed alone before 10 P.M. on a Friday night,” he said rounding the corner to go down the stairs.                 Sienna sat shocked. She was pretty sure she’d been checked out, flirted with, dissed and she didn’t even know his name. What a jerk. Deciding she’d had enough excitement for the night, she went up to bed.                 She laid there for a good hour going over the brief encounter in his mind again and again. Did he actually think she was hot? Was he really checking her out? Why hadn’t she asked for his name? Sighing, she put her knockoff Air Pods in, turned it to her favorite Pandora station, and relaxed enough to sleep.                 Sienna woke up disoriented to the sounds of a loud conversation outside. She could hear male voices echoing up from the patio. Wondering what time it was, she glanced at her phone. 2 A.M. Her mother got home at 3, or else they’d have been yelled at already.                 “I’m telling you, she’d never go for you bro,” Brody’s voice became clear first.                 “You never know,” said the mystery boy.                 “I know Sienna,” Brody replied.                 “I’m just saying she’s hot,” mystery boy replied.                 “For real Jaden, that’s my sister,” Brody groaned.                 So, his name was Jaden, and he did think Sienna was hot. She heard the door of the patio open, and then slide closed.                 Sienna rolled her eyes, he’s too young for you girl, she thought to herself.
