As I surveyed the gruesome scene, a visceral wave of disgust coursed through me. The notion that such an event might transpire had lingered in the recesses of my mind, so the sight of the headless corpse, gruesome as it was, didn't entirely catch me off guard. To others it might come as a surprise to see a dead man's decapitated body. But to me it's quite normal, there isn't a gruesome scene I haven't seen. Nothing that can surprise me. The only time I ever saw a death that scarred me was Bianca and Jacob's execution. It broke me to shreds. But that's a thing of the past, death has never scared me ever since.
