CHAPTER 11: PUNISHMENT

1069 Words
Lhan just ate instant noodles when she came home. She cleared the table, took shower and decided to sleep. Since Lhan worked and studied at the same time, she had few times to rest. Every time she had nothing to do, it's either she would write her novels, play online games, clean the house or sleep. If there's nothing important to do, she would sleep the whole day of Sunday. As Fleur arrived earlier, she didn't have a time to sleep during day time. Now all she wanted to do was to dream on her pillow. She took a quick shower, wear a comfy shirt and shorts. It was already 7pm so she decided to sleep. Not long after, she was awakened by a loud bang coming from the door. 'It maybe Fleur. Did she forget her keys? Maybe she had been knocking and since there was no response so she banged the door to wake Lhan up.' That was what she thought. She was a little groggy when she got up and opened the main door defenselessly. However, she was shocked when the door was wife open and there, Dunce stood up angrily. "Change it now!" It was Dunce first words as soon as she saw Lhan. He was visibly so furious. "Change what?" Lhan asked with knitted brows, obviously she had no idea what Dunce was talking about. Dunce didn't reply. Instead, from his pocket he pulled out his phone, dialed a number and put it on loudspeaker. Lhan couldn't believe that he found her antics right away. She just thought about it weeks ago. She set it whenever she got tired of his incessant calls but switched it off so not to raise suspicion. But the past three days she switched it off as she unconsciously expecting for his call. But nada. She just put the ring back as soon as she left the restaurant because Dunce would surely call her if she won't return. Nonetheless, she left a message to Fleur that she would go home but forgot to inform her about the ring back. She suspected that it was her who gave her away. "You woke me up just to ask me about that? You really have the knack to annoy people." Lhan said complainingly and was not trying to be intimidated by his anger. "No! I won't. Stop pestering me! Go home!" "I will not leave until you change it." Dunce sighed. "Wifey are you mad because I didn't call you?" She thought, 'When did I become your wife? I am not even your girlfriend!' But still hearing him mad, she went to her room immediately to get her phone. When she came out, Dunce was already sitting relaxingly at the couch in the living room. She stood in front of him and removed the ring back. She brought the phone two inches closer to his face and said, "Happy now?!" Dunce was satisfied but warned her, "If you will do that again, I will give you a punishment that you won't forget." He pulled her arms towards himself and her other hand grabbed her head. He gave her a French kiss, deep and rough. When he noticed that Lhan lost her breathe he released her. "I'm tired. Let me sleep here." "Go home!!!" Lhan shouted fuming with anger. Her face was read and hot. She was mad because of the sudden kiss and the self-consent for staying in their flat. "If you didn't avoid me then I should have not come after you. You made me tired so you should take the responsibility." Dunce said obviously putting all the blame on her. Lhan concluded that the guy in front of her wouldn't leave. She clenched her fist controlling her rage, "Suit yourself. I'm sleeping." Then she marched back to her room and closed the door loudly. But not a second, Dunce came knocking again. "What now? Can't you leave me in peace?" Lhan. "Wait..." Dunce grabbed her wrist and kiss Lhan was taken aback. Their lips parted when her senses snapped back. "How dare you!" She lifted her hand to give him a slap but Dunce caught her wrist. "It's a goodnight kiss. The first one was a a slight punishment." Dunce smiled as if he won. Out of nowhere, Dunce felt a scorching pain in his knees. Lhan just kicked him hard then again closed the door. The door opened in a second and a pillow and quilt was thrown straight to his face. "Here! Don't knock again!" Lhan said with gritted teeth. But before she could close the door, Dunce stopped the leaf and said out of nowhere, "I miss you!" Lhan was flustered for a bit and heavily shut the door. It hit Dunce’ nose. Even though he was in pain Dunce' mood still remained lifted as he did enjoy the kiss, her embarrasment and the ticked off face of Lhan. He believed that Lhan cared for him because she bothered giving him a pillow and quilt. "Cute!" He uttered to himself. He wanted to sleep beside her but since they are not yet in a relationship, he fought the urge. 'It's okay just seeing her and be with her in the same roof.' He thought. He was so tired as he worked his ass while he was abroad just to see Lhan. He missed her so much but didn't dare to message or call her afraid that he couldn't fight his inner self of wanting to be with her especially if he heard her enchanting voice. He was contented just to be with her in the same house for now. Not so long he fell asleep like a log. He didn't even notice that Fleur came home at around 11pm. While Dunce slept peacefully, Lhan's eyes were wide awaked. These feelings she just wrote and described in the novel as easy as pea since she never experienced. Now that it came to her, it was hard to fathom how she could overcome the emotions. For once she accepted the truth that her heart couldn't kept secret, "Yeah, I love him. What should I do now?" She laid still trying to be logical about her feelings. Eyes fixed on the ceiling but no answer resurfaced from her head. Several times did she try to force herself to rest however It was past 3am when sleep took over her consciousness.
