UNDER THE SAME MOON
Episode 6 — Dangerous Love 🌧️🖤
The corridor outside Kiara’s hostel had never felt this silent before.
Rainwater dripped from Aarav’s hair onto the floor while distant thunder echoed outside.
Neither of them spoke.
Neither knew where to begin.
Kiara’s heart hurt just looking at him.
Because despite everything…
Despite the lies, the secrets, the confusion—
A part of her still wanted to pull him closer instead of pushing him away.
And that terrified her.
Aarav looked exhausted.
Not physically.
Emotionally.
Like he hadn’t slept properly in weeks.
“Please,” he said quietly again.
“Five minutes.”
Kiara swallowed hard.
Every logical thought in her brain screamed at her to shut the door.
But emotions were cruel things.
Especially when love got involved.
She stepped aside silently.
Aarav entered the room slowly.
Sana looked between them awkwardly from the bed.
“…I’m suddenly very invisible,” she announced before grabbing her headphones and disappearing outside.
Traitor.
The room became painfully quiet.
Rain tapped softly against the hostel windows while Kiara stood near the desk with crossed arms.
Creating distance.
Protecting herself.
Aarav noticed instantly.
His jaw tightened slightly.
“You’re scared of me now.”
“I’m scared of what I feel for you.”
The honesty slipped out before she could stop it.
Aarav looked at her silently.
And somehow that hurt more.
Kiara looked away quickly.
“Tell me the truth.”
He exhaled slowly.
“Alina and I…” His voice paused briefly. “We were together.”
Kiara felt something crack inside her chest.
Even though she expected it.
Even though she already knew.
Hearing it still hurt.
Aarav noticed the pain in her expression immediately.
“She died two years ago.”
The room felt colder suddenly.
Kiara’s anger softened slightly despite herself.
“How?”
Silence.
Too much silence.
Then finally—
“Car accident.”
Aarav’s voice sounded emotionless now.
Too emotionless.
Like he had repeated those words so many times they stopped feeling real.
Kiara watched him carefully.
“You blame yourself.”
It wasn’t a question.
Aarav laughed quietly.
A broken laugh.
“I was driving.”
Her breath caught instantly.
Oh.
Everything suddenly made sense now.
The guilt.
The sadness.
The emptiness in his eyes.
Aarav looked toward the rain outside instead of at her.
“We fought that night,” he said softly. “I was angry. Distracted.” His jaw tightened painfully. “If I had been paying attention…”
He never finished the sentence.
He didn’t need to.
Kiara’s chest ached unexpectedly.
Because suddenly Aarav didn’t look dangerous anymore.
He looked destroyed.
“I didn’t tell you because…” He closed his eyes briefly. “Every time someone gets close to me, they get hurt.”
Kiara stared at him quietly.
“And you decided that for me?”
Aarav looked back at her instantly.
“You don’t understand.”
“Then help me understand!”
Her voice cracked emotionally.
Tears burned behind her eyes now.
“Do you know how confusing this has been? One minute you pull me closer, the next minute you shut me out completely!”
Aarav stepped toward her slowly.
“Because I’m trying not to ruin you.”
Kiara’s heartbeat stumbled painfully.
“You don’t get to decide if I’m worth the risk.”
Silence.
The tension between them felt unbearable now.
Aarav looked at her like he wanted to say something dangerous.
Something honest.
Instead, he whispered softly—
“You deserve someone better than me.”
Kiara hated how much those words hurt.
Because deep down…
She didn’t want better.
She wanted him.
And that was the problem.
—
The next few days became emotional torture.
Kiara tried focusing on college.
Assignments.
Friends.
Anything except Aarav.
But avoiding him felt impossible now.
Because he existed everywhere.
In songs playing randomly at cafés.
In rainy nights.
In every late-night thought she couldn’t escape.
And unfortunately…
Aarav refused to give up.
Flowers started appearing outside her classroom.
Coffee waiting near her desk.
Random texts at 2 a.m.
Aarav:
Eat properly.
Another.
Aarav:
You looked tired today.
Another.
Aarav:
I miss talking to you.
Kiara ignored every single one.
At least she tried to.
But every message weakened her a little more.
Because no matter how angry she was—
She missed him too.
—
Meanwhile, Aarav’s life outside college was collapsing quietly.
Concert pressure.
Media interviews.
His record label demanding another album.
And Maya constantly reminding him that he was destroying himself again.
“You’re obsessed with her,” Maya said one evening inside his penthouse.
Aarav looked tired.
“I know.”
“She’s not Alina.”
His expression darkened immediately.
“Don’t.”
Maya sighed softly.
“I’m not trying to hurt you, Aarav. I’m trying to stop you from drowning again.”
Aarav looked toward the city lights silently.
Because the terrifying part?
He knew she was right.
Kiara had become dangerous for him.
Not because she would hurt him.
But because she made him want things he stopped believing in a long time ago.
Peace.
Love.
A future.
And people like Aarav Malhotra were never built for happy endings.
—
A week later, the college festival night finally arrived.
Music exploded across campus while lights glittered everywhere.
Students danced.
Laughed.
Fell in love temporarily.
But Kiara felt strangely empty tonight.
She stood near the rooftop railing alone watching rain clouds gather above Mumbai again.
Typical.
A soft voice spoke behind her suddenly.
“You always disappear from crowds.”
Her heartbeat reacted instantly.
Aarav.
She turned slowly.
Black suit.
Messy hair.
Eyes filled with exhaustion and longing.
He looked unfairly beautiful tonight.
And somehow…
More vulnerable than ever before.
Kiara looked away first.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
“I looked for you everywhere.”
“That sounds unhealthy.”
“You make me unhealthy.”
Silence.
Rain began falling softly around them now.
Tiny droplets against warm skin.
Aarav stepped closer carefully.
Not wanting to scare her away.
“I know I lied,” he said quietly. “And I know you have every right to hate me.”
Kiara’s chest tightened painfully.
“But?”
“But I can’t stay away from you.”
The honesty in his voice nearly destroyed her completely.
Aarav looked at her like she was the only thing keeping him alive lately.
And maybe she was.
Kiara felt tears sting her eyes unexpectedly.
“You hurt me.”
“I know.”
“You confuse me.”
“I know.”
“You make me feel things I wasn’t ready for.”
Aarav’s voice became softer now.
“Me too.”
Thunder echoed above them.
Rain slowly soaked through their clothes.
But neither moved.
Neither cared.
Kiara looked at him helplessly.
“What are we doing, Aarav?”
He stared at her for a long moment before answering quietly—
“Falling in love.”
Her heart broke and healed at the same time.
Because that was the problem.
No matter how dangerous this felt…
No matter how badly it could end…
She loved him too.
And deep down—
Both of them knew love like this never came without destruction. 🌧️🖤
