Greg's POV I squatted behind a dumpster in the alley, my gun ready in my hand. The alley was dark, the perfect cover for what was about to go down. My heart was steady, my breathing calm, but my mind was sharp. Tonight, Dennis was mine. Just then, the phone in my pocket buzzed. I pulled it out and held it close to my ear. “Don,” came the voice on the other end. “We’re in position. All set.” I nodded to myself, gripping the phone tightly. “Good. On my signal, set it off. Make it loud.” “Understood.” I ended the call and leaned against the cold wall of the alley, peering out at the street. The silence was heavy, like the calm before a storm.
