Greg's POV Before I could answer Aurora’s question, the door swung open, and Lucas stepped in, looking like he had just run a marathon. "Sorry to ruin the moment," he said, breathless. "But we have a serious problem." I frowned. "What now?" Lucas took a deep breath. "Sting just confirmed it. Mayor Borris has been kidnapped." The words hit me like a bullet. I sat up so fast a sharp pain shot through my arm, but I barely felt it. "What?!" Lucas nodded grimly. "It’s official. He’s gone." °°°°° Hours later, we found ourselves at a safe house located on the West Coast. The room smelled of fresh wood and saltwater. The sound of waves crashing in the distance filled the heavy silence inside the apartment. It was safer here. Less eyes watching. I stood on the balcony, anxiously waiting.
