For 100 years it was dark.
For 100 years it was cold.
For 100 years he went out.
Then the ice started to boil.
Melting From the _in and out.
*Wolfstain* opened his eyes.
Blue. Not with cold. With fire.
_“Enough,”_ he said
A voice in his head 100 years of silence.
The iceberg shook.
_c***k_
Steam. Not from outside. From _him_.
Rage so hot it turned the ice around his chest to water, he heart , he could feel his heart.
_“You used my name.”_
_c***k_
Ice racked from his shoulders.
_“You killed in my name.”_
_c***k_
His claws came out. Digging through 3 feet of ice like it was paper.
_
_BOOM_
He threw his head back , body stuffed cold , wanted to scream but couldn’t shoot out , body so cold he almost give out , but somehow find the strength to stand.
Not a howl.
A war cry.
100 years of it, compressed into one second.
The iceberg _exploded_.
Water and steam and ice shot 200 feet into the air.
The sun that hadn’t shone in 80 years in this region, cut through the clouds and hit the blast.
And in the middle of it—
*Wolfstain.*
Standing in a crater.
Cloth tore Scarred. Breathing.
Ice melting off him in the brisk sun light shining hot on him , hissing the second it touched his skin.
100 years of being buried.
100 years of listening to them laugh.
The ice on his back cracked off and fell.
The chains around his wrists snapped
He raised his head to the mountain.
And he tried to speak but he body felt freeze , he felt as if he just started existing, he tried to think but his head hurts each time he tries.
Ice fell like rain. Steam covered everything.
The crater was 20 feet wide. Boiling.
*Naya* had been in the woods gathering firewood.
When the ground shook, she dropped everything and ran.
She didn’t know why.
But her blood was singing.
_Mira’s_ blood was singing.
She broke through the trees and stopped.
There, in the middle of the melted ruin,
stood a god.
7 feet tall.
Scarred. Bare.
Ice melting off him in sheets and turning to steam the second it hit the air.
Back to the world. Head raised to the palace.
*Wolfstain.*
Naya’s breath caught.
Her teacher died for this.
Her whole life was for this.
Her voice shook.
But she said it anyway.
_“...Wolfstain.”_
He didn’t move.
He was at her confused
Naya took a step forward.
Slipped on melted ice.
Caught herself.
Louder this time. Crying.
_“WOLFASTAIN!”_
His head snapped.
Slowly.
Like a mountain turning.
Blue eyes. Burning.
100 years of cold and hate in them.
They landed on her.
Naya froze.
She was 30 now Covered in ash. Shaking.
A kitchen girl staring down an Alpha who just broke a century.
For 3 seconds, nothing.
He just looked at her.
Like he was deciding if she was a threat. Or a ghost.
Then—
Something shifted in his eyes.
The rage didn’t leave.
But under it... recognition.
Not of _her_.
Of _the sound_.
_“Wolfstain... rise...”_
_“Wolfstain. If you can hear me.”_
_“Wolfstain...”_
30 years of prayers.
Whispered in cellars.
Whispered by Mira.
Whispered by this girl.
_That was him._
That was the name they used to pull him out.
Wolfstain exhaled.
Steam poured from his mouth.
He didn’t speak.
He just took one step toward her.
The boiling ground cooled where he stepped.
Naya didn’t run.
She fell to her knees instead.
_“My teacher...”_ she sobbed. _“She died praying to you.
The people are suffering. You have to—”_
Wolfstain was in front of her now.
He reached down.
Massive, clawed hand.
He didn’t touch her.
He hovered it over her head.
Like he remembered how to be gentle.
_“...Naya,”_ he said.
Her name.
He didn’t know it.
But the gods told him.
Because only someone who prayed would be here.
Only someone who believed would be brave enough to say his name.
_He woke for vengeance.
But a girl saying his name reminded him what he was fighting for._
*Naya’s House. Edge of the village. Night.*
It was a small hut. One room.
Dirt floor. One bed. A fireplace that never went out.
Naya dragged him in.
*Wolfstain* barely fit through the door.
He was shaking. Not from cold. From _not_ being cold.
100 years of ice.
Now: heat.
_“Sit,”_ Naya said, voice soft.
She pushed him to the floor in front of the fire.
Piled on blankets. Fur. Anything.
_“You’re burning up,”_ she whispered. _“But you’re freezing too.”_
Wolfstain didn’t answer.
He just stared at the flames.
Orange. Moving. Alive.
Ice still clung to his fur.
It hissed and turned to steam when it touched the firelight.
Naya sat beside him. Didn’t touch.
Just kept the fire high.
_“Mira said... fire remembers. It’ll help you remember too.”_
For an hour, silence.
Only the crackle.
Then Wolfstain’s eyes rolled back.
---
*FLASHBACK: YEAR 0. THE BATTLE*
Snow. Screaming.
Blood on white.
*Wolfstain* in the center. 7 feet tall , blue eyes , long hairs,Axe in hand.
Around him: *Vegris* and *Bellion*. His two.
*Vegris* - Left. Shield up. Roaring.
_“Alpha! Left flank!”_
He was laughing. Even while bleeding.
_“They think they can take us!”_
*Bellion* - Right. Bow drawn. Arrows like rain.
_“Keep them off him!”_ he shouted to the pack.
_“For WOLFASTAIN!”_
Wolfastain turned.
_he roared.
Vegris took a spear for him.
Bellion took an arrow in the shoulder for him.
Both still fighting.
_“We got you, Alpha,”_ Vegris grinned through blood.
_“Always.”_
Then ice.
Cold.
Dark.
---
Wolfstain gasped.
Back in the hut.
Back by the fire.
His hands were clenched.
Trembling.
_“...Vegris,”_ he rasped. Voice broken.
_“...Bellion.”_
Naya jumped. _“What? Who?”_
Wolfstain looked at his hands.
Opened them.
Saw blood that wasn’t there.
_“My warriors,”_ he whispered.
_“They died... for me.”_
The fire popped.
A spark landed on his arm.
He didn’t flinch.
Memories were coming back in pieces.
The betrayal. The ice.
And them.
Standing in front of him until the end.
_“Where...”_ Wolfstain looked at Naya. Eyes wet.
_“Where are they buried?”_
Naya’s face fell.
_“I... I don’t know, Alpha.
Selene erased everything.
Your name. Your pack. Your grave.”_
Wolfstain went still.
Then he looked back at the fire.
In the flames he saw Vegris laughing.
He saw Bellion nocking an arrow.
He saw them fall.
They fought on my side when I fell I still remember that, they were buried along side with me that means they might be alive somewhere .
Naya: I did hear you had loyal soldiers but u were the only one who got out of the ice, I had been waiting a long time for your return through prayers and rituals on your behalf.
Wolfastain stares at her , feeling warmer and better; but still I need to find them .
Naya : yes you will , for now rest you body isn’t doing well for now, you have to recover mentally, and physically, a century in ice is no joke.
