The room got hotter as the night proceeded. The unexpected turn and sudden change in conversation made my stomach churn and my heart skip at every comment.
I watched my dad’s expression change from shock to disgust to a fully blown anger as he watched the video on Elena’s phone. I messed up big time, I should have taken the video down from the internet knowing it would always come back to haunting us.
His gaze flinched for a moment, from the phone screen to me to Nana and back to the phone. The video was agonizingly long, sitting still until he was done watching was torture.
