Chris' POV
The day of the full moon came, my father, the Alpha, and the rest of the pack were preparing, gathering and discussing the ceremony and also about finding my mate. Firstly, if I don't find my mate tonight, they'll get to find me a new mate in three days' time. This thinking got me sad, and my wolf decided we should go for a run around the territory. I just had to wait for the perfect time.I've never turned fully before, only my eyes and claws get to come, so this change is my first. When the moon came out on display, it was also almost at its peak, which means I'll have to return in time for the ceremony. I gave my wolf full control of my body. I must say the process was painful, but due to my Alpha blood, the pain didn't last long. My first change. I won't lie to you: If I was just an ordinary wolf, the transition would have killed me. The pains were so unbearable, I was cut short by my wolf, who said we should hurry and return immediately. My wolf howled in delight as it ran around the territory. Suddenly, he took a turn to the borders. "This was not our agreement," I told him. Actually, the name is Alex and you're going to love this. We'll be back before anyone notices.
It's a cold night again. I had just finished helping my mom with clearing the table and doing the dishes because she had to cook. We took turns with the house chores. After helping, my room was the next place I went to. I don't know why, but my mind says my room. I was on the bed facing the ceiling when my phone rang. I checked the caller ID and it was Scott. I let out a frustrating sigh before picking up the call.
Chris' POV
My wolf and I were still wandering in the bush and I prayed to the moon goddess not to let us meet with an enemy. "Relax, We can take them no matter how many they are," Alex said. I know I am trained, but being outnumbered by rogues is not a good thing most especially when you're an Alpha blood. I was still explaining things to Alex when our nose caught the sweetest scent ever. The scent is a rose flower mixed with vanilla and chocolate. I loved chocolate when I was little, even now, but not all the time. 'Mate' Alex said. He ran further into the bush and the scent was getting stronger. Finally, we stopped close to an opening. I decided to change into my human form to have a closer look. Alex told me to go meet her and claim her, but I ignored and watched from behind a tree. The shadows on the window show a girl on the phone. She's having an argument with the person she was talking to. Her voice sounded familiar until she said 'Scott, there's no way we're getting back together'. That voice sounded like Elizabeth's. "Could she be my mate," I asked myself. Maybe the moon goddess is just playing with my head.
I was on the phone with Scott for more than one hour and all he did was just ask for my forgiveness and for us to get back together. "Scott, I am going to say this one last time, we're never getting back together. "That is final," I said before hanging up the phone on him. I threw my phone on the bed and walked to the window. I opened it and shot out my face, letting the gentle night breeze touch it. It felt really nice after having a hot argument. The gentle night breeze eases away your stress. I was still feeling the wind on my face when I heard a branch break close to my window. I looked through the bush and trees and asked the dumbest question: Who's there? "I knew nobody was actually there, but it felt like someone was watching me. "Then again, I did the dumbest thing by jumping down the wind to get a closer look. "This is how people die in horror movies, I murmured to myself. Only God knows what is in there.
Chris' POV
Finally, she hung up her call and came out the window. Seeing her face from where I am makes me want to run to her. I had to stop looking at her and head home to inform my parents that I had found my mate. It was just like my mom read my mind, she messaged me to know where I was that everyone in the pack was waiting for me. Mom, I've got good news for you. Don't worry, I'll tell you when I get home. I cut off the link and turned to go home when I stepped on a branch. Elizabeth asked who was there, and I knew I had gotten her attention. She came right down from her window towards the woods. My back was facing her, but I could tell her every move. She could not see me like this. I was naked. I turned back and begged Alex not to do anything crazy, like jumping out of the bush to scare our mate, because he was super excited. A noise from inside her house made her change direction. A lady was also pleading with someone not to go upstairs. Nobody touches my mate.
I was walking quietly towards the bush, when I was finally close enough, I heard a noise come from inside the house. Because I couldn't get back to my room, I had to follow the back door. When I came in, I saw some broken plates. "Mom, I called out. There she is. I heard someone say but don't know who it was. Elizabeth run, was the word of my mother. I just ran. I had no destination, but I was just running, and I could hear their voices. They were getting closer. Finally, they caught up with me and threw me on the ground. I groan in pain. I didn't get up on time, so I was pinned to the ground. Get off me, I said, and struggled to get him off my back. The one pinning me down gave me a slap on the face which made me yell in pain.
"Shut up, you're going to make us rich," he said. We heard a howl, nobody knew where it was coming from, but it made them unpin me. I couldn't leave where I was. I was afraid, but these men looked prepared. One of the men was taken away. It was so fast we didn't see it coming. Finally, he stopped yelling, meaning he was killed by whatsoever that took him, leaving only me and the man in front of me. It came out in front of us, it was a wolf, a white wolf, and its blue eyes got my attention. It was ready to devour the man right in front of me but was shot while racing to attack the man. He stood right in front of the wolf who was lying on the ground, giving me the opportunity to knock him out. He fell at the opposite end beside the wolf. I looked at the poor thing in front of me.
I kneel in front of it as it struggles to breathe. I was surprised and at the same time I was afraid. I wanted to touch it when I heard many more howls. I ran for my life. I escaped death just now. I don't want to come in contact with one again.
