***Chris Pack***

Dan can we talk, Susan asked. Sure, what is it Susan, Dan asked? I've been wanting to ask you why you acted that way towards the News of Chris finding his mate, I asked? I'm sure he'll protect her, I said. And lose her on her delivery bed, Dan asked in a pissed off tone. We all know that what happened was not anybody's fault, I said. Yes it wasn't, I never said we were at fault but it was the Moon goddess fault, I said. Dan, I called. What if I never had you by my side, my son would have grown to never know what mother's love is like, Dan said.

That's why the Moon goddess gave us a second chance, to make him feel strong, I protest. I'm sure she's happy wherever she is. Just be happy for him and pray nothing happens to his mate, I said. Okay, Dan said. Thank you, I replied. After talking with Dan Chris mind linked me. He said his mate was in danger not only was she in danger that he was also in danger. I listened to every detail and told him not to worry that nothing will happen to his mate. After the mind link I told Dan, he had fear written all over his face. The fact that they were prepared for him was the thing. This people know who he was. Please Moon goddess don't let history repeat itself.

****Flashbacks****

I could hear footsteps like someone was been chased, I followed but quietly I don't know if they are hunters. I don't want to be someone's prey. Please spear me. I hear the girl say, she was harmless but was chased into the woods by four men. Please don't hurt me, she plead. Hurt you, honey you should have thought of that before running into the woods, one of the men said. Actually we were going to bring you to our master but change of plan, the other said. No, please no, she said. Help, she yelled. Come on nobody can hear you not even your grandma, we're deep inside the woods.

Nobody dares come her anyway, he said. One of the men grabbed her on her hair and threw her hard to the ground. I couldn't stay and watch this men mistreat her. I came out of my hiding place growling at them. Well look what we have here, it a wolf, he said. When we kill you I'll dry your fur and wear it around, the other said. This men are begin to annoy me, I growled at them and I heard one of them say. I'm prepared for this, give me what you got. This men underestimate me, I lunched at the weak one among them soon enough I was able to put the whole four down.

The girl in question was just sitting on the ground watching what was going on. Even when I walked up to her she didn't move, which made me surprise. I thought humans run when they see us, but she was different then I decided to shift. On seeing me shift she fainted I had to stay with her till she woke up. Hey, you're up, I asked. She jolted away from me. Don't worry am not going to hurt you, see I just helped you kill the bad guys, I said in my defense. Are you going to kill me too, she asked. No I won't fo that, I replied. My name is Lizzy, she said. Well Lizzy nice to meet you am Susan the beta's daughter, I said

So you're a werewolf, she asked. Yeah, I replied. Wow, I never met on in real life only the midnight stories my grandma tells me, she said. Was that why you didn't move, even after I appeared from your back, I asked. Actually I was afraid but I had to calm down somehow because my grandma said you guys could smell fear, she said. Oh, you had yourself covered with it tho but not anymore, I replied. So, what's a beta, she asked. A beta is the second in command to the Alpha, I said. Like a right hand man, she asked. Yes, like a right hand man, I replied.

Okay Lizzy I have to come back now but first let me accompany you out of the woods, I said. Thank you, she said. Finally we were out of the woods I watched her walk but she turned around. Will I be able to see you tomorrow, she asked. Yeah sure, I said with a smile. She waved at me and she ran off like a little girl smiling. 'Susan get your butt back here now, my father said' I'm on my way Dad, I shifted and ran back home. I went straight home although I was supposed to go over to Dan's but my dad sounded pissed over the link.

Where have you been, my father asked. I was out in the woods, I said. I dare not tell my father what happened or I'll be roasted alive. The Alpha's son has been waiting, he said. Dan is here, I asked in joy. Yes, he's in your room, my father said. Immediately I went to my room and met Dan sitting on the sofa waiting for me. There you are, he said. I ran over to him and gave him a hug. What's that scent on you, he asked. Sweat, I said. No it's different, he said. Okay how does it smell, I asked. Vanilla and chocolate, he said. After he mentioned the scent on me, he said the word 'mate'

Where have you been, he asked. Out in the woods, I replied. With who, he asked. Hold on a second, so now you're trying to tell me I just saved your mate from bad guys, I asked with a raised eyebrow. My mate was under attack, Dan asked. Don't worry I took care of them, I said. Can I see her, please take me to her, he pleaded. I must say I've never seen this side of Dan, I mean we've been friends and every one in the pack thinks we'll end up becoming mates. It hurts my heart tho but am still happy for him. Not today lover boy, you will have to wait till tomorrow. Your mate and I agreed to meet tomorrow, I said. And I need to wash off so you don't.....I said. No need for that, he said. I looked at him and said seriously I need to wash up I stink. Before I forget she's human. He seems cool with it. I was happy and sad at the same time but the joy over took it this time.

The following day came and I kept to my promise. Dan followed me to see his mate. When we got there Lizzy was there already looking around. Susan are you there, she asked. I came out again from behind her which made her scared. Seriously you have to stop doing that, you scared me. I brought you some clothes in case you know, she said handling the cloth over to me. Thank you, I said. You should really come in your human form than your wolf's, she said. *Cracks* What was that, she asked. Susan another, she screamed hiding behind me. Hey, why are you hiding, I asked. Are you kidding me, what if this one is here to kill me, she asked. I laughed at her which made her look at me confused but she didn't leave my side.

You were not all scared when you saw me, I said. Well that was you, she replied. You can touch it, I said. I can, she asked. Yes go ahead it won't bite, I said. Are you sure, she asked. Yes, I replied. I watch her walk slowly towards Dan as she gently touch him. I bet he was enjoying it. Wow it fur are soft, she said. Can it change like you, she asked. Yeah but...... But what, she asked. That's your mate, I said. My mate, she asked. Yeah like you two are connected, I tried to explain. So you mean to tell me that am mate with a werewolf, she asked. Maybe, I replied. Male or Female, she asked. Female, I replied. The look on her face was everything, I couldn't hold the laughter in. We heard sounds of Dan's bone cracking, luckily for him only his shirt gets to tear apart except his pant. Because he has the Alpha bloodline.

You are not afraid of me, Dan asked. Well she wasn't afraid of me either until I changed which made her faint, I said. My grandma tells me bedtime stories about werewolves, and she told me not to be afraid when I meet one. She also said they protect their pack but she never mentioned the word mate to me before. Now I get it , I said.

****Three years later****

Dan calm down, she'll be fine it's just delivery every woman goes through it in life, I said. Alpha, the doctor called. It's a boy, she said. She also request to see you both, she said before leaving. Lizzy you made it, Dan said. Susan, she called me. Promise me you will take good care of him, she said. Of course I will and you too, I said. No am not going to make it, she said. What are you talking about, Dan asked. I don't have much time but I want to use this opportunity to say thank you for saving me and for being a good friend, she said. Why are you sounding like this Lizzy, I asked. Promise me you'll take good care of Chris and Dan for me. Promise, she asked. I promise, I replied. I love you were her last word that day at the hospital. She was more than a friend.
