Amelia's POV The next morning, I woke up feeling the calmest I had felt in years. Falling asleep in Luca's arms and holding him so close felt like a dream and I never wanted to wake up from it. I had always found myself getting too hot at night, throwing the covers off and feeling frustrated at being too warm. That was not an issue here. Feeling the weight of his warm body on top of me made me feel so secure I slept like a baby.  What made my heart sore was the fact that Luca had slept as well. I had heard him stir a few times, but apart from that, he had slept soundly in my arms.  That dream and state of calmness quickly turned into an intense anxiety as I wandered to the bathroom and saw the purple mess of bruises on my face.
