It was dark.  Too dark.  She was alone.  Always alone.  The girl was by herself, hugging her knees in the cold dark. Her whole body was trembling.  Seraphine felt her fingers started shaking. She gripped Rowan's tunic, trying to stop her hands from the involuntary movement.  Tears had clogged her throat as she fought herself from breathing too loudly. She was hiding.  She fought the rising panic that suddenly attacked her. Seraphine never felt anything like it before. It almost paralyzed her. Her knees weakened.  Then came in them.
