Seraphine decided for herself that the Jerk Gem was not in the vault. After taking another round of walk in the treasury, she couldn't find any gem even close to the size of the Jerk Gem. On top of that, the gems in the vault were usually pieced with another item; crowns, staffs, mirrors, swords, and even woven in fabrics.
The sacred gems would not be able to be picked apart like that. She knew the gems had somewhat of a consciousness. It would prevent some things from happening. Let’s call it the gems’ self-defense mechanism. Just like when Seraphine was about to destroy that yellow gem, it turned back time.
She eventually took a small jeweled dagger from the vault because she was supposed to take a treasure, as Rowan believed it was her purpose of going to the vault.
