Chapter 4

1682 Words
I approach Omega Crystal and ask her, "Do you mind?" Please allow me to ask you a serious question. She raises her head momentarily to look into my eyes before lowering it again. Yes, your Majesty. Anything. Please explain. Her face immediately flushes as she senses my gaze. I raise my hands in the air and proclaim, giving her the impression that I am about to ask her to have s****l relations with me. “No, no. That wasn't the question I was going to ask. I apologize if that was the impression I gave. I hesitate for a second before adding, "I do believe you observed a teenager upstairs in one of the bedrooms. A human being, she is. We walked in on the two fighting earlier, and as I was attempting to introduce her to the concept of werewolves, she had a glimpse of something she shouldn't have. I am in a bind right now. Should I explain it to her or send her on her way? Do I force her to stay here so that I can be sure she doesn't tell any of the other humans until she's calmed down? She looks at me wisely and says, "If you plan to mate with her and make her your Luna, you will first have to get her to trust you." If you don't, she'll go back and tell everyone what she saw, and then we'll be hunted down like animals no matter what you say. Omega Crystal is now crystal obvious to me. She's far more savvy than everybody gives her credit for, and she'd make a great partner for a powerful person. I pray she finds someone who appreciates her for all of her unique talents. In fact, I might have been tempted to steal this human girl away for myself if I hadn't already set my sights on her. I appreciate it very much. You have incredible insight. Being a teenager yourself, you have a better understanding of her brain than I do; how would you advise me to proceed? As I lean in to hear her reply, I can't help but take a closer look at her. My first impression was that she was just 16, but now I'm starting to wonder if she's actually in her twenties. As she prepares to answer, I sigh, realizing that the answer was staring me in the face the whole time. She seems to know exactly what I'm thinking, as she licks her lips before responding with half-closed eyelids. "Well, first, you need to move carefully and cautiously. If she's really as terrified as I suspect, she'll run out the moment you open the door and find another means to escape before you can grab her. Sometimes humans can be quite deceptive. I know this because a year ago my sister had a near-fatal encounter with one of them. Then, once she's collected herself, you have to charm her into doing everything you ask of her. After that final bit, I saw her look directly into my eyes for an instant before returning them to their original position. I have no doubt that Omega Crystal would go out of her way to accommodate my every whim right now if I asked nicely. She must have a sixth instinct for interpreting my thoughts, for she reaches up and follows her fingertips over the cleft of her neck before stopping at her generous bust. When she looks up at me again, I can see the longing and the necessity in her eyes. I was correct in assuming that I could do whatever I pleased to her at this time. The tension in my member rising, I leave the room without further ado, realizing that this is probably not the best strategy for winning Diva over. “Thud” “Crash” After hearing the loud commotion, I hastily make my way to Diva's room, where I take a deep breath and gingerly use the key to open the door. I take a quick look around as I open the door, and it strikes me how destructive a woman she is. The drapes are flung carelessly against the walls, the cushions are shredded, and the moment I look into her eyes, she charges me full speed. 'Damn you! She starts to say, "You are so," but she bumps against my chest and has to pause. I look away from her intense stare till her eyes meet mine again. She puts her locked fists up to my chest and begins to strike me. I let her beat on me for a few minutes until she ran out of steam, at which point she stopped, shut her eyes, and said, "You are so cruel, you have to let me go." My folks are going to get frightened and probably contact the police. You had better let me go, because my friends will be looking for me, and they all know who I was with the last time they heard from me. Her expression contorts like a child about to cry. When she does this, I start laughing and she gets even more angry because I grab her wrists and hold on tight while she attempts to retreat. What gall you have! You are a real thug. Can I just say, "I hate you?" The moment I release her grip, she looks up at me with that same contorted expression, but this time she scrunches it up, and I catch a glimpse of mischief in her eye. Knowing what that means, I stand in front of the door and chuckle as she tries to squeeze by me. Before she can get around me, I yell at the top of my lungs, "Watch what you do, little one. If you don't listen to me, you will be punished as I am the Alpha King. Looking down at her, I hear her say, "I don't care what the hell you are," as her small head whips about in vengeance. You're no better than me, and when the police show up and I press k********g charges against you, you'll be the one who feels shame. She starts fighting me again with a serious expression on her face, but she stops herself in mid-combatant. After the rage in her eyes dissipates, she asks me softly, "Will you please let me go?" Nobody needs to find out. In fact, I'm rather confident that the whole thing has been a dream. No strange creatures were seen engaging in battle within your massive fortress. My great dream after reading a werewolf story was just that, a dream." She calmly stares at the ground while I answer her inquiry and release her. “No. Sorry, I just can't. If word gets out that we exist, people will come after us like wild animals until we are all captured or dead. The government or a traveling circus will profit from our puppies. I can attest to this because I have watched movies in which similar plot devices were used. She begins to speak, shaking her head back and forth, but suddenly stops and starts looking about nervously. The guards are waiting for her to make her move so they can subdue her before she can escape. I give them the cold shoulder and say, "She is fine." She won't leave the house until ordered to. You may now return to the main gate; I will summon you if further assistance is required. Believe in me. I observe as they exchange glances and nods before leaving the room and closing the door behind them. The silence has given the place an eerie feeling of being deserted. But when I turn back around, she's sitting on the edge of the bed, legs crossed, staring thoughtfully at the floor. She takes a few steps toward her and then glances up in alarm. As I ponder this, I ask myself, "How do I approach her without making her want to hide?" I put my hand to my head and run my fingers through my hair, trying to think of a way to make her feel more at ease so we can have a conversation. When I finally think of something that could work, I take a step back to gauge her reaction. The tension in her shoulders drops and she gazes up into my eyes with less startle. "All fine, I'll hang back then. Is it enough to ease your worries for now? I ask in a softer voice, hoping that it may help her feel more at peace. She doesn't want to look at me again at first, but after a few minutes she returns my gaze with her own and pleads, "Please let me go." I've never heard a voice that enchanting. Her voice has a musical quality, almost like singing. With a grin on my face, I softly declare, "I can't. If that happened, my entire species would perish. You are too shaken to return to your people in good faith at this time. I need to get to know you, anyway. I'd like to get to know you more because you have a certain characteristic that's hard to come by. After that last remark, her lovely face began to flush with anger and she could no longer retain my attention. I can tell that what I said made her flush, and I know she feels the same way I do. It feels like fate has tied our fates together with an unseen string, and it's a little unsettling. After I finish speaking, the silence in the room convinces me that she needs time to process what I just said. Maybe I'm reading too much into this and there's actually nothing there, or maybe this is the painful start of something magnificent. Perhaps, just possibly, Goddess Luna is trying to pull a fast one on me. So, with all this on my mind, I take a few steps backward as I observe her, turn around, and hurriedly exit the room, locking the door behind me.
