Habros raised an eyebrow at us as we emerged into the kitchen, but he said nothing as I walked Katyk to the back door. “See you soon,” she whispered, kissing me deeply before she disappeared. “I hope you got some sleep,” Habros said, pouring me a cup of the dark tea he preferred. some“More than I had planned,” I replied. “Good.” We were quiet for a few minutes, each in our thoughts. Mine were an unsurprising mix of spells, s*x, and worry.
