John's face contorted in anguish as he read the letter, his eyes scanning the words with growing horror. "No, no, no," he whispered, his voice rising in panic. "This can't be happening." He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him. He sprang into action, rushing out of the house and driving recklessly to the hospital. His heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. "Please, God, don't let it be true," he prayed, his voice a desperate whisper. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles white with tension. As he arrived at the hospital, he sprinted inside, his eyes scanning the corridors frantically. The hospital seemed normal, the staff going about their duties with calm efficiency, but John's world was spinning out of control. He rushed to the incubator area, his heart sinking as he saw that one of the incubators was empty. "No!" he screamed, his voice echoing through the corridor. "Where's my baby? Where's Olivia?" He spun around, his eyes wild with fear. "Nurse!! Nurse!!!" he bellowed, his voice raw with emotion. "Doctor!!!! Doctor!!!!!" he screamed again, his face twisted in anguish. The nurse appeared, her face going white as she saw John's anguished expression. She was confused and scared, unsure of what to do. She took a step back, her eyes wide with fear. "M-Mr. Parker," she stuttered. John's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze intense. "Where's my baby?" he demanded, his voice shaking with rage and fear. "What happened to Olivia?" The nurse's face crumpled, her eyes welling up with tears. "I-I don't know, Mr. Parker," she whispered. "I was just gone for a few minutes to get something to eat, and when I came back, one of the babies was gone. I didn't...I didn't see anything." "What !!! What do you mean by my baby is gone? FIND MY BABY THIS INSTANT ELSE.” John thundered, his voice echoing through the hospital corridor as he slammed his fists against the wall. The nurse cowered, her face deathly pale, and her eyes wide with terror. She stumbled backward, her hands shaking uncontrollably as she tried to speak. John's eyes blazed with fury, his face twisted in a snarl. He stood up abruptly, his movements swift and deadly. "FIND HER," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "FIND MY DAUGHTER, NOW." The nurse turned and fled, her feet pounding the floor as she frantically searched the hospital for the child. As she ran, she spotted the doctor and rushed to meet her, her face etched with fear. "Doctor, oh God, it's Mr. Parker," she whispered, her voice trembling. "He's going crazy. He thinks someone kidn*pped his daughter." The doctor's face was grim, her eyes filled with concern. She quickly followed the nurse to try and calm John down. Meanwhile, John's fingers flew across the keypad of his phone, his face set in a determined expression. "Chief, it's John Parker," he barked into the phone. "My daughter's been kidn*pped from the hospital. I need your help, NOW." His voice was firm, commanding, and laced with a sense of desperation. The chief's response was immediate, and John could sense the urgency in his tone. "We're on it, John," the chief said. "We'll do everything we can to find your daughter." John's grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles white with tension. "Find her," he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. "Find my daughter.” The police chief and his team arrived at the hospital, their faces set with determination. "Mr. Parker, can you tell us what happened?" the chief asked, his voice firm but sympathetic. John's face twisted in frustration, his eyes red-rimmed from lack of sleep. "I don't know, ask the doctors and nurses what happened. I left my babies for a few minutes, and now one's missing. That's all I know." The police chief nodded sympathetically. "We will, Mr. Parker. We'll do everything in our power to find your daughter. Can you tell me more about this letter? Do you have any idea who might have written it?" John shook his head, his eyes welling up with tears. "I don't know. I just found it on the table in my living room. I have no idea who wrote it or how it got there." The police chief's expression turned thoughtful. "We'll take a look at the letter and see if we can lift any fingerprints or DNA. In the meantime, I want you to think about anyone who might be holding a grudge against you or your family. Anyone who's been acting suspiciously or making threats." John nodded, his mind racing. He thought about Jenkins, the man he had denied financial assistance to. Could he be behind this? He mentioned it to the police chief, who nodded thoughtfully. "We'll look into it," the chief said. "We'll talk to Jenkins and see if he has an alibi for the time your daughter went missing. We'll also review the hospital's security footage to see if we can spot anyone suspicious." John's eyes locked onto the chief's, his face set in determination. "Just find her," he repeated. "Please, just find my daughter.” The police chief nodded, his expression firm. "We will, Mr. Parker. We'll leave no stone unturned. I'll assign a team to investigate the hospital's security footage and interview the staff. We'll also send a team to Jenkins' residence to question him." John nodded, his eyes never leaving the chief's face. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. The police chief turned to the doctor and nurses, his eyes narrowing. "Now, let's talk to the staff. Who was the last person to see the babies?" The doctor stepped forward, her face pale. "I was one of the last people to check on them. But I didn't notice anything unusual." The nurse who had been assigned to the incubator area looked like she was about to cry. "I-I was just gone for a few minutes to get something to eat, and when I came back, one of the babies was gone." The police chief's eyes locked onto hers, his expression intense. "We'll need to take a statement from you. Can you tell us exactly what happened?” The nurse's eyes were wide with fear as she recounted the events to the police chief. "After Mr. Parker left the hospital, I was assigned to stay at the incubator area since it was my shift," she said, her voice trembling. "I stayed for a while, but then I was pressed and hungry at the same time, so I went to the toilet to ease myself and then took my food from my lunch box before heading back to this place. But by the time I was back, I realized that one of the babies was missing." The police chief's eyes narrowed, his expression intense. "Did you notice any unusual movement or person?" he asked, his voice firm. The nurse hesitated, her eyes darting around the room. "No, sir...I didn't...oh, sir, I remember when I was back to the incubator area, I had bumped into a man," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "He was carrying a baby, and he seemed so much in a hurry. He was looking from left to right constantly, like someone who was doing something wrong, but I didn't think much about it." The police chief's eyes lit up with interest. "Can you describe his looks?" he asked, his voice urgent. The nurse nodded, her eyes closing as she recalled the details. "He was tall, sir, with a scar on his cheek. He was wearing a black jacket and jeans. And he had a...a desperate look in his eyes." The police chief's face set in a determined expression. "I think we might have our man," he said, turning to his team. "Let's get a description out to all units. We need to find this guy ASAP. “The police chief turned back to the nurse, his eyes locked onto hers. "You're doing great, ma'am. Can you tell me if the man you bumped into was someone you've seen around the hospital before?" The nurse thought for a moment, her brow furrowed in concentration. "No, sir. I don't think so. I've never seen him around the hospital before. But...but now that I think about it, he did seem familiar. Maybe I've seen him somewhere else?" The police chief nodded, his expression thoughtful. "That's okay, ma'am. We'll look into it. Can you come down to the station and work with a sketch artist to get a composite of the man's face?" The nurse nodded, her eyes wide with determination. "Yes, sir. I'll do whatever I can to help." As the nurse nodded and began to make her way to the police station, the police chief turned to John, who was pacing back and forth in the hallway. "Mr. Parker, I think we're making progress. We'll get a description of the man out to all units, and we'll review the hospital's security footage to see if we can spot our suspect. The chief looked around the hospital, his movements swift and decisive. "I'll keep you updated on any developments, Mr. Parker. In the meantime, I want you to stay here at the hospital and wait for any news. We'll do everything we can to bring your daughter home safely." “And yes,Mr. Parker, we need you to be available in case you're contacted by the who kidn*pped your child," the chief said, his voice serious. "If you receive any calls from him, alert us immediately so we can track him down." John nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "Alright, I'll do that.” As the chief nodded sympathetically and turned to leave, John's phone rang, shrill in the silence of the hospital room. John's heart skipped a beat as he looked at the screen. Unknown number. The police chief's eyes snapped towards John, his expression intense. "Who is it?" he asked, his voice firm and commanding. John's face was pale, his eyes wide with fear. "It's an unknown number," he replied, his voice shaking slightly. The chief's expression darkened, his jaw clenched in determination. "Okay, stay calm," he instructed his team. "Let's get a track on Mr. Parker's phone. Now." His team sprang into action, quickly connecting a tracking device to John's phone. The chief's eyes locked onto John's, his gaze steady. "Answer it," he instructed, his voice low and urgent. "Let's see if we can get any information out of them." John's hand trembled as he pressed the answer button. "Hello?" he said, his voice cautious, his heart racing with anticipation.
