Glowing

Haley woke up when Eric shut the door to their room. I got up to do a PiYo workout. Afterwards, I jumped in the shower and went to see Mrs. Blanch about breakfast. I greeted her, "Good Morning Mrs. Blanch!” Then I saw the girls in the kitchen, “Oh, hi Molly, Jessica and Shana!" Shana was glowing. The Fae could see the glow of a pregnant woman right after conception. Mrs. Blanch smiled, "Hello my sweet girl. We have pancakes, chocolate muffins, bananas, strawberries, scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits." I laughed, "Wow! Well, since I'm healing someone today, I should probably have a little bit of everything." Mrs. Blanch agreed, "Good. I'll get you a plate." Shana was bursting with joy she squealed, "Haley thank you so much! Even if we don't get a pup this heat I’m so excited for the future." I laughed, "Well, I think you better prepare yourself for a pup, and gather all the things you need. Sometimes with my healing twins happen. I forgot to mention that." Shana smiled admitting, “That would be great if we did conceive." I tilted my head, "You did." Mrs. Blanch froze along with Molly, Shana, and Jessica. Jessica finally asked, “Haley, how do you know?" I shrugged, "Oh I'm sorry. I thought you guy knew. Fairies can tell when someone pregnant. They glow. Shana is glowing." Cassandra walked into the kitchen grinning. Mrs. Blanch handed me my food. Everyone was just staring at me. Cassandra admonished them, "Don't tell me you don't know it's rude to stare at people. I know that you do." Molly responded, "Haley said fairies can tell when someone's pregnant because they glow. Shana is glowing." Shana had silent tears streaming down her face. Cassandra squealed. She ran over to Shana and wrapped her in a hug. "Oh, my precious girl! This is incredible. Let's get you to Catherine to confirm this wonderful news." Shana shook her head asking, "Isn't it too soon?" Cassandra laughed, "You know werewolves have shorter pregnancies, the doctor will be able to tell. Let's go!" She scooped Shana off her seat and shooed her toward the door. They left the kitchen holding onto each other. Molly and Jessica looked at each other for several moments. Mrs. Blanch dabbed her eyes. Finally, Molly broke the silence, "So, I want Jessica to be healed next. I was able to have Saied before everything happened. Jessica never got the chance." I agreed, "Whatever you guys want is fine with me. Mrs. Blanch this is the best chocolate muffin I've ever had." Mrs. Blanch tearfully said, "I will make sure to have them for you in the mornings." I quickly told her, "There’s no need for you to go out of your way." Mrs. Blanch shook her head, " Not at all. For you, it's no trouble at all." Jessica cut in asking, "Haley, what else can you do? Power wise." I should gather everyone and explain about myself all at once. I told them, “I can pop, heal, make people tell me the truth. I can't lie, which is moderately annoying. I can perform fairy magic, conjure, snap, and control the elements. An example would be, I can cause a small storm, a cute little tornado; not like a big one though. At least I don’t think it’s big. Arion and Aiden can make bigger ones than I can. I can suck the air out of the room, bring the wind, cause vines to grow; I could probably cause an earthquake if I really wanted to. I am immune to witches’ powers. I am an excellent fighter from my Hackura side. When I get pissed the f**k off that side of me takes over.” I kept eating while they sat in silence. Mrs. Blanch asked, "How is fairy magic different from all the powers you just explained?" I told them, "Charms and powers are not the same. As the princess, I can call upon protection for someone and the elements will protect them. For example, I healed Shana with my healing light, but I used fairy magic to cause her to into heat.” They seemed to need a moment to digest all that so I asked, “Can I save your plant?" Mrs. Blanch stared at me seeming quite startled. After a few moments she looked at her plant, "Oh my! I forgot all about that. My daughter gave it to me. Sure, go ahead." Shana and Cassandra came back in holding each other. Shana had tears streaming down her face holding a sonogram print out. Molly and Jessica stared at the sonogram in astonishment. I don’t know why. I told them she was pregnant. I put my hands on the pot and said, "Plant of the earth grow and be healed." Once I’d finished my charm the withered plant turned from brown to green. Cassandra spoke, "Well if that isn't the darndest thing. You are going to have to come with me to my garden. No one kept it up when I was gone." I smiled, "Of course. It's nice to use my earth powers. Plus being outside makes my sky side happy." Jessica spoke, "So you’re a sky and an earth fairy, right?" I nodded, "Yes. Every one of my mother’s children have sky and earth. My brothers’ father was a fire fairy, so they are all three." Molly snorted, "They've never used their fire powers in the war. No one has used fire." I laughed, "Have my brothers actually fought? At all?" Molly and Jessica looked at each other. Molly admitted, “No, they haven't." I nodded, "Exactly. If there was a battle to be fought, they’d be there. Random fighting, kidnappings, and killings though, they wouldn’t put themselves in danger that way. War was declared, but no actual battles have been fought. It's not like they live here in this realm, you couldn’t ambush them or vice versa. The fire fairies would not fight you either. You were probably fighting mostly sky and earth fairies." Jessica said, "Could your brothers set us on fire?" I thought about it, "Aiden could. Arion couldn’t when I lived there. Arion can start a fire though. Anyway, let's get started on healing you Jessica." Jessica told me, "I don't need you to clear the room. Shana told us this morning what you asked her. I want to go into heat today.” I sensed her healing was going to take longer than Shana. I informed her, "Ok, this will take a little longer than Shana's healing session. It should be around an hour and a half. Do you want Harold to hold your hand?” Jessica disagreed, "I would love that, but I won't take him away from pack business. So, Cassandra would you hold my hand?" Cassandra nodded with tears in her eyes, "Of course. You don’t even need to ask." Shana seemed to lose her patience. She shouted, "TWINS! IT'S TWINS!" I chuckled, "I'm sorry I meant to tell you the odds were fairly high that would happen with fairy magic being involved." If I were more in tune with my fairy light, I’d have been able to sense how many children she was carrying. Maybe one day I would be there. Shana ran over and hugged me. She squeezed me tight and said, "Don't you ever say sorry! This is the best gift. I can never repay you." I smiled, "You already have you've shown me more kindness as a stranger than most of my family. Well, more kindness than my fairy family anyway. You believed in me. You don't care that I’m only partial fairy. You accepted me." Shana just cried and held onto me. Mrs. Blanch went over to Cassandra crying. She whispered, "Twins?" Cassandra nodded crying, "Twins" Mrs. Blanch sobbed, "Haley, after you heal the girls, would you see my daughter as well? You don't have to. Just… if you wanted to." My head snapped to Mrs. Blanch. I asked, "Was she in the accident? Of Course! You should've told me sooner. If she's here, we can do her healing session after dinner. I'll just need to talk to her beforehand." Mrs. Blanch sniffled, "She's here in this pack. She's Nicks mate. She has her heat, but she's heartbroken that it's been three years and no pup." I nodded, "Just have her come up after Molly's healing session this afternoon. I’ll do hers after dinner." Mrs. Blanch cried and threw her arms around me awkwardly since Shana hadn't released me. I was surprisingly comfortable, though they were women. I only tended to panic when men outside my family, and apparently Eric, touched me. Cassandra was speechless. She was looking at me like I was a puzzle she couldn’t solve. I cleared my throat, "Let’s get started, Jessica." Jessica squealed and jumped off her seat. Everyone followed her into the living area. She jumped onto the couch and laid down clapping her hands, "Let's get this going! Haley, will you go tell Harold he's on the clock when you're done? You're the only one Eric won't be upset with for interrupting them.” I agreed, "Of course. I want to see Eric anyway. I miss him." I kneeled over Jessica as Cassandra took her hand. I called upon my healing light and began. Cassandra started purring and Jessica fell asleep. After an hour and a half, I sat back sweating a little bit. I announced, "Ok, I need a Dr. Pepper. then I'll go tell Harold he’s on the clock.” Molly quickly handed me a Dr. Pepper. She winked at me, "I thought you might want one like last time. I was prepared. Beta blood." I did not know what that meant, but everyone else seemed to. I chugged my drink then I snapped my fingers. I was no longer sweaty and in a new outfit. Mrs. Blanch chuckled, "Well isn't that handy." I smiled, "It really is!" I skipped off towards Eric's office. It was nice to see Eric and my family, but I was nervous for my fairy brothers. I had no damn clue why they showed up. I popped back into the main room. Cassandra was awake and sitting up on the couch. She looked at me with concern, asking, "What's wrong, Haley?" I told her, "My fairy brothers are here. My Dad and my brother Marcus hate them. I'm worried there will be trouble which would be bad for Eric. They might not deserve anything from me, but they are my brothers.” Cassandra nodded and looked at me as if were a small child, "Eric won't let it get too out of hand my dear." I looked up at her frowning, "If Marcus or my father want things to get out of hand, Eric can't stop them. They are both full blooded Hackura royalty. They are unstoppable together and apart." Cassandra nodded, "I understand, but Eric would call you back if needed." I agreed with that, "You’re probably right." After a bit of small talk Jessica sat straight up. She started running from the room. The girls laughed. Jessica yelled, "This heat thing is no joke. Harold better move his ass! I'm linking Eric." Everyone started laughing. Molly asked, "Haley, do you go through anything like this?" I shrugged “I'm not sure. Fairy females have a concupiscence. Hackura women don’t have anything like that. So, I guess I will find out now that I’ve found my mate which way I lean." Cassandra laughed, "Oh I hope you lean Hackura. My son does need someone who can keep up with him though. It’s a shame he’ll never experience a heat with his mate." I frowned. She didn’t seem to like that I was a fairy. I shrugged. Shana admitted, "You will need stamina to keep up with Eric. We are quite close, but Eric's past conquests brag quite a lot. It's hard not to hear what they had to say. You should probably be prepared for some snide comments.” I laughed, "I can keep up stamina wise. As far as snide comment, they should prepare for some backs. They met me about six years too late for those types of comments to bother me. Eric is mine." Cassandra nodded, "Good. We can’t show weakness.” She smirked as she looked at her other two girls. Shana timidly said, "If something does bother you Haley, I'm not saying it will, you can come talk to us. We love Eric, but sometimes he can be an ass. If you need to say he’s being an ass on occasion; we will be here for you.” Molly added, “Yeah, sometimes the men we love are assholes. We call them on it, then we complain to our girlfriends, and move on." I asked, "Are we are friends?" Molly linked arms with me and said, "We are more than friends, we are sisters." I teared up, "That’s so kind.” Suddenly Eric’s linked me, "Haley, come back in here please." I asked, "Do I have to?" Eric replied in a serious tone, "Yes." I stood up and answered him, "Fine. I’m on my way." I turned to the girls, "Key up the death march. I've been asked back into the damn meeting.... this can only end in tears." The girls laughed, but I was one hundred percent serious. I gathered myself and walked down the hall to Eric's war room. I took a deep breath and knocked. Eric’s replied "Come in." I closed my eyes preparing myself for whatever was happening on the other side of the door.
