The office's telephone rang, interrupting the silence. I was doing everything I could to catch up on all the work I had missed while on sabbatical. For the time being, we'll just name it that.
To be honest, I despise doing paperwork. That's why I enjoyed it when Ivy would spend her evenings at the office with me when everyone else was sleeping. We'd manage the paperwork for the prior days and the days ahead, among other things. I won't bore you with specifics.
