Mercury POV
We were currently driving on the Crossville Pass road. Unless you're willing to sprint through the forest, dodging trees and frog leaping over falling trunks, it was the only road that could lead you to any of the other packs.
This road was a fork road. Or, as they are known in the city, an intersection.
Anyway, since Rio wouldn't tell me where he was taking me, I sat quietly in the car and gazed longingly out the window, not that anyone would miss me if it wasn't somewhere to gut me like a fish.
The further we drove away from the pack, the more nervous I became. Rio is my mate, but I'm still undecided about whether or not I can trust him. Despite my hopes that this would not be our first and only date, I couldn't shake the sinking feeling in my stomach.
