Alex gets back to his normal state after being disorientated from the amount of force that blew against his house. Alex gets up from the floor where he layed wondering what caused that, he ran to the counter to see if there was anywhere that he could go where a checkpoint would be, the only reason he did this is because he remembered that in 6th grade his school did a presentation on where to go just in case of emergencies like this because his city had a power plant in it that could have grown easily unstable. Alex gets the spare map from the kitchen drawer, where his mom keeps all the survival kits and first aid. Whilst looking for the map Alex told himself, " at least your good for something other than drinking mom". He looked at the map and drew a circle in the area in which he almost certainly knew where the checkpoint would be. After getting his bag, he filled it with water and snacks. He decided to go get his sister from school, if she was still there. he tried calling hundreds of times while working out the plan. Alex grabbed his keys from the kitchen counter and ran to his car. He gets in his car and looks at himself in the rear view mirror, and stares. There wasn't a single moment so far where he could think of what happening, hes scared. He starts to wonder where his mom is, if his little sister is okay, and if hes gonna be okay, hes scared. Theirs tears dripping down his face, he starts to sob. His focus turns to the people running away from the high school where his sister Lexi and him went, Ocean View High school. Alex was a senior there, whilst his sister was sophomore, they both had a decent amount of friends, they gained more friends when they went into high school. Middle school wasn't the best year for Alex and Lexi, they got bullied by the other kids because of there parents. Alex remembered that every day Lex which was his sisters nickname would wait for Alex by the lunch room so they could eat together, Alex always brought a chocolate pudding for lex, he knew it would always cheer her up no matter what kind of day lexi was having. Alex wipes his tears from his face and decides that thinking negatively was only going to bring negative reactions, he pulls out of the driveway and start driving towards the high school. He decides to take the shortcut that he would take if he was ever late to school, it was illegal because he was driving through someones property but sense the world was basically ending, it kind didn't matter, just as long as Alex got to his sister in time. On his way to the high school Alex started to realize that there were no cars going that way except him, he only saw people going away from the high school, people running, biking, and driving, he was the only one going where no one else was. As Alex was driving he heard his phone go off, it was his sister, the text said "Alex I love you, no matter what happens I want you to know that I love you and mom". Alex read the text and started to tear up again, but then he looked up and saw the other car, Alex tried swerving but it was too late, it had already happened.
