Chapter Twenty-Three
Aidan could not understand how Chef did it. He asked his sous chef what ingredients he used in the Bolognese from last night. His deaf, mute cook showed him by collecting everything together. The only outcome he could think of was that Chef lied to him; he had a secret ingredient.
He expected a quiet Saturday lunchtime. Chef's four samples went down well with passers-by. Instead of zero tables, they cooked for six. All he did was heat Chef's dishes, as they all chose his testers from outside. Kate came back in with empty bowls and plates wearing a big grin.
