"The job is yours." Jaxon said casually, snapping me out of my reverie. I had been in his office for a few minutes where he had instructed an office messenger to ensure I was comfortable by offering me some coffee and snacks while he attended to something else. Jaxon had just arrived from his errands and his words caught me off guard.

"Without an interview?" I asked curiously, my face draining of all the colour in it. "I-i-"

"The Human Resource manager is already processing your employment and the details will be emailed to you later." He said to me. "Meanwhile, let me show you around the office as I give you orientation on what you're supposed to do." He added, to my amazement.

I thought I was supposed to be shown around by someone else, maybe a fellow staff member or even the messenger but I was damn wrong! Mr. Boss himself was more than willing to show me around and finally show me to my office. I was shocked beyond measure but still, I dragged my confused self up and then dragged my feet, following Jaxon around as if I was a lost sheep who didn't know where to head to.

"—and this is your office." The boss finally told me after walking around the office for what seemed like eternity. "I'll give you a little brief and then the HR will send your job description to you together with your employment details as I've told you." He added and I just nodded as I waited for him to give me a go ahead to take a seat since he had already sunk onto the couch.

"Take a seat, Adeline." He said to me, showing me a seat behind a desk. "This will be your office until Aileen comes back."

Ah, so this isn't permanent, huh? I knew it! Oh God, what am I going to do once Aileen resumes work?

Either way, I just nodded as I listened to the boss telling me about whatever was needed of me and all the details about my job. When he was finally done, he stood up to leave and I thanked him sincerely for offering me the job.

Jaxon smiled at me then exit the office while still smiling. Immediately he was out of sight, I sighed heavily and then sunk further into my seat. My eyes ran around the office, scrutinizing it keenly and silently praying for the Aileen girl not to come back!

Five months later, Aileen showed up at work, shattering all my dreams completely. I was already making a good amount from my job, including the allowances I got from traveling all over the world with my boss as his assistant!

When Aileen came back to the office, I briefed her on everything concerning work in general and immediately I was done, my boss called me to his office and that's when he dropped the bomb on me.... I was being promoted to be his escort!

"I don't need two assistants, Adeline." Mr. Jaxon said to me immediately I settled on a seat in his office. I was shocked but I didn't show it because I had already saved some money and I could have as well started life with the little I had.

"It's okay boss, I understand." I replied, faking a smile but deep down, I was disturbed and disappointed. "I can just-"

"I have another job for you, Adeline." He cut me short, shocking me to the core. I thought I had just been fired. Ah, I couldn't imagine being jobless again!

"What?" I gasped even before getting to know the job description.

"Since Aileen has a toddler at home to take care of, I need someone who will be free to accompany me on my business trips both in the country and outside. Aileen will be my personal assistant in the office while you'll become my personal assistant outside the office." My boss explained.

"What will my job entail?" I asked curiously.

"Well, let's say... You'll be my escort and-"

"What? Hell no! I can't sleep with you boss!" I complained before hearing his explanation.

"We don't have to sleep together, Adeline. I have a fiancee and she takes care of my s****l needs!"

Filled with shame, I bowed down and apologized to him for misunderstanding him. Gosh, I thought escort work involved having s*x with your clients!

My boss explained everything in detail until I got the real essence of the escort job and everything it entailed.

"You also need your own place, far from you siblings and parents. You need privacy Adeline because you're no longer eighteen!" Mr. Jaxon added, and I just nodded since he made a lot of sense.

I had made plans to shift from our family house to my own apartment though I hadn't gone house hunting yet. It was now time to shift and start living alone!

Later that evening, we had dinner together, he paid my salary and gave me some allowance to refurbish my wardrobe and to go house hunting. Mr. Jaxon then bid me goodbye and told me to head home and always be on alert, waiting for his call.

That evening, I went home and with a lot of excitement, I explained everything to my parents and siblings and also my plans to look for my own apartment and they all gave me their blessings. I wasn't growing any younger!

There by then, we held a small party to celebrate my little achievements and since I had bought all the drinks and everything needed for the party, mom prepared the food and we all had a celebration almost the whole night.

The following day, I went house hunting and I was lucky enough to get one a few kilometres from my family house.

I also went shopping for some clothes and other requirements since Jaxon had already made that possible by funding me. I couldn't have been any happier, even though I didn't know what lay ahead of me as the billionaire's escort!
