As soon as Hailey left the room to take Liam to bed, Valerie stood to her feet with the empty dishes in hand as she walked into the kitchen, without saying a word to me.
As much as I hated to admit it, the silent treatment was beginning to bother me. Not that it hadn't bothered me before, but now, it was more.
I stood to my feet, and followed her into the kitchen. As soon as she saw me, she rolled her eyes.
"So, are you just going to ignore me now, huh? Is this how it's going to be from now on?"
